Cafe Melo — Restaurant in London

2nd update 13/08/2021 I don't usually leave updates, especially not two...but they're my local coffee shop, and their service is still very good, and I've recently discovered their cookies, which are amazing. (Especially their chocolate one, and the tahini one). They've also recently started selling babka buns (chocolate + caramel), which aren't better than the cookies, but still a good treat.

Update 30/03/2021 Still amazing. We tried two of their sandwiches this time for lunch. The cheese and mushroom toastie was really really good, and I am by no means a mushroom lover. The seasoning was great and they avoided the far-too-often rubbery mess that happens in other places (and my kitchen). The salted beef bagel was also a good choice, and the coleslaw was a good balance. We’re going to go back and try some other sandwiches next week. I would highly recommend this place, especially as their service is still outstanding.

Coffee is small and overpriced. Servers never really smile, to get attention it almost feels like your being inconvenient towards them. I was waiting in que and the person behind me was served first. Due to its tiny size it gets very cramped inside. If you're interested in the area there's a more pleasant coffee place called Ginettes less than 1 mins walk from here.

Update: No, I did not cut in. The lady in front asked me to go ahead of her, but you did not register that or acknowledged me. Regardless of whether it's hot or freezing, the customer service is very much lacking. I ve been here a few times, and it's always been a similar sour experience, I just tried each time to see if gets better. I would not...

This is a new cafe in the area. I used to come to the previous cafe in the same location and the new owners have done a great job at turning the place around. They offer a deliciously healthy selection of brunch dishes - my favourite is the potato rosti, served with poached eggs. The granola is also great and they make sure to serve it with fresh fruit (peaches, kiwis, strawberries). You get a feeling that they take their time to make each dish tasty and carefully prepared.
