I’m disappointed with the service here. I’m a regular customer who enjoys their cookies and coffee, often ordering them for breakfast via Uber. Today, I decided to visit the shop in person to purchase some cookies. Despite two staff members being present at the counter - a young man with curly hair and a blonde woman - they seemed more interested in their conversation than in serving customers.
When I tried to get their attention, the blonde woman reluctantly turned around to take my order. As I was making my payment with my card, she turned her back on me and resumed her conversation with her colleague. She didn’t check whether the payment had gone through or provide me with a receipt.
I tried to get her attention again, hoping she would at least confirm if the payment was successful. However, she merely glanced at me before continuing her conversation. I find this level of service not only poor but also detrimental to the business.
As someone who used to enjoy this café, I’m now hesitant to return due to this experience. I would suggest that the owner consider installing a self-service payment machine and reevaluating the current staff, who seem to be driving customers away rather than...
Read moreCutting off a girl’s healthy breasts is an act of mutilation. Putting a cartoon version of the scars on the side of a van, to advertise a coffee chain, is a new low even for a movement that long ago lost touch with reality. Post-operative pain, rigid scarring, a profound sense of loss: none of these feature in the image of a “trans man” approved by Costa Coffee, which appears to treat the visible effects of surgery as a desirable fashion accessory.
The coffee chain is evidently keener to be seen as a “trans ally” than to think about customers who are post-operative women. Around 15,000 female patients have a mastectomy in this country each year, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. They do it to save their own lives, not in pursuit of realising their “gender identity”. Imagine their feelings on seeing their experience trivialised in this way, as though an operation most women dread is something to be...
Read moreThis is the only other Nero that I dislike (see my post re Woking branch). Again, it's all about poor customer service and if it weren't for the fact they have tables out facing the sun I would never visit it again. Two young females and two young males, ALL of whom treat their workplace as some kind of social club (Just for themselves) and customers come second. They all go outside for considerable numbers of "cigarette breaks" at the same time, often blocking the entrance while they gather in a group smoking and chatting, leaving the newbie to cope with long queues of customers. If there is a table free in the sun, they make sure they take it and again, customers come second. One last comment... They are often "on duty" in casual clothes and because of this some customers are unaware they should be serving. Don't go there if you value...
