Caffeinate — Restaurant in London

Lovely place, tasty coffee and food, perfect atmosphere for a coffee/tea break. And most important - staff! Always so friendly and chatty, always says “hello” and “buy” with a smile on face :) Background music always nice. I love coming here for morning coffee and to work. Only one thing not nice thing I have notice recently is a new barista. Absolutely unpleasant and not friendly girl, I love this place for the friendly staff who keep the good mood, but the new barista leaves a feeling of unpleasant service not time There is never a smile when you say "thank you" for coffee, in response you get 0 emotions or such a quiet answer, as if she is doing you a favor for bringing the order. My morning coffee mood yesterday was ruined as the coffee and breakfast came with a favor in the face and when we left we were talking maybe 15 minutes about bad service and how mood of staff can affect your day .In my opinion, the new girl absolutely does not fit into the friendly team and the friendly atmosphere of the coffee shop.Today, if I see that she is on shift, I prefer to go to a nearby coffee shop, where I will get more pleasant emotions and people who say hello to us with a smile. Strict policy of no laptops on the weekends. This morning I forgot my phone at home and didn't notice. I stopped by the caffeinate n8 cafe to grab a coffee take a way, but returned to check the working times of the library near by. Since I have just bought a coffee there, felt appropriate. Made myself comfortable took my my laptop out. Stuff told me about the policy (no laptops), please note that there were no sings that were visible. I agreed and asked politely that I needed a second to check smth. However, I was refused to be given a wifi password due to policy, with a comment " check on your phone", which i unfortunately didnt have. I was polite, I bought the cafe's product. I was not offered an alternative like (how can we help you else how) just repeated their policy like robots, arguing it was for the everyone's sake. I felt helpless and humiliated (whole cafe was staring at me), and soooo un-welcomed. Left my coffee there on the table, because I never coming back. All this friendliness felt so fake. I love this café, local, cosy, great coffee and bubbly and welcoming staff. I love their pastries and can’t wait to try their Shakshuka. I only arrived from Canada a week ago and I think I’ve been here everyday. Definitely my go to cafe when in crouch end!

Additonal post : 11 Aug 2022 - I finally tried the famous Shaksuka. Now I have never tried this anywhere before so I have no real reference, but boy, was it ever soooo good! Farm fresh eggs poached to perfection, golden yolk, cooked in a lovely tomatoe and pepper herbed sauce. It comes with 2 pieces of healthy toast. The lovely lady in the counter even offered me more bread but I had to decline as I was so full. This is a pure vegetarian meal which will fill me up for the whole day. No need for lunch! A definite must try!
