Floral Hall — Restaurant in London

Visit happened on 19.06.

We love going to Floral Hall, as we are locals.

Usually there is a lady, I’m guessing she is a manager, who is super friendly and gives great service.

Unfortunately it was not the case this time, we asked to a server for a table outside, but only a shared one was available.

After kindly asking to be relocated to a smaller one once it became free, the server agreed and when we were on our way to change the table, apparently the male manager of the day told the younger guy to put an extra table by the busy part of the street.

There was no reservation sign on the table that became free and we asked to move there, but as “it was a table for four”, we couldn’t sit there.

As we felt unwelcome, we left even if we had an order in and when the younger guy went to communicate it to the manager, we heard an “it’s ok”, which made us feel even worse.

The younger guy by the way tried his best to help, unlike the male manager.

We’ll definitely not come back if he will be around and we’ll try to stop by only when the super friendly lady is...

My first experience of Floral Hall was really good. However on Saturday night it was awful. We were given two different menus, easy mistake. The salmon (really good) came with 2 small bits of bread. It’s a good sized portion so we asked for more bread but we’re charged £5.50 for an additional portion. We couldn’t get anyone’s attention to order more wine yet the restaurant was half empty but none of the waiters were scanning the room. Our food was half eaten and no one came to see if there was an issue or even clear our plates. We even paid the bill with all the food still left on the table. The food was mediocre at best! For a small independent restaurant this level of service is astonishing especially when they are dependant on local custom and word of mouth. I give 3 stars because the place itself is nice and the wine was fine too. The concept is good but not there yet, they need to train their staff if they are charging service on the bill. I am local, so trust me I would love to love this place but I find it hard when charged for something that is not there. We went there to have some wine and a bite, and had to re order the food after something like hour waiting, the place wasn't full and the waiters don't seem experienced at all.
