Chaplin’s Café — Restaurant in London

I visited Chaplin’s Café on Sunday at around 10 a.m. and ordered a Full Breakfast. At that time, there was only one other table waiting for food, yet my friend and I still had to wait nearly 30 minutes for our meals.

When the food finally arrived, I discovered a blue thread, about 4 cm long, embedded inside the bacon. It was not hair, nor from our clothing, and was clearly something that had come from within the meat itself. I brought it politely to the attention of the lady at the counter, but instead of offering an apology or acknowledgement, she responded impatiently and told me to return to my seat as she was busy. Shortly afterwards, she waved us towards the till to pay, again without a word of apology.

I enjoyed a business breakfast here recently- they use good quality sausages, everything was piping hot and tasted good - small gripe they could crisp up the bacon a little more but it still tasted good. It’s a very clean and a well established cafe. Constructive criticism - the sauces could be replaced with branded varieties eg HP and Heinz and there was no English mustard. But a tasty good value belly busting breakfast for under a tenner each. They serve real coffee which is a winner for me. I come here often, and never had any problems. Always enjoyed the food, however I went today, wasn’t too busy, few people were finishing off so I got myself a table and waited (I used to order at the counter but was always told to sit someone will take my order) 10 mins go by and my order still wasn’t taken, another 5 mins and customers who arrived after me have had their order taken and I’m sat there waiting .. wondering if I died this morning and if I was a ghost. Worker passed me (4th time) to clear a table at which point I got up and left. Never experienced this before. Really...
