I used to love this place the staff used to be pleasant and food was worth the money as were the size of the portions... since they refurbished the place sizes gone smaller, boxes gone smaller and the service is always as if they want to spit in your food! You can see that spending money on the look of the restaurant had a big impact on their finances and now rather then about it being serving good food its more about how much money they can turnover in a day as quick as they can with least expenses and quality to save ££££. I ordered the beef today and £7+ received a barely large enough portion that could even get me half full.. the beef was pure salt and not succulent instead chewy and barely I could swall it with the amount of spice and salt it had. Its clear they swapped chefs or to be quite frank they probably using cheaper and more budget ingredients. This is a second time that I leave chopstick being a huge fan before the refurbishment of the venue... that I leave tbh disappointed and disgusted with the food. I just threw £7.50 in the bin... plus the lady serving the food needs to fix her attitude towards customers who pay her wages!! I would not recommend to anyone this specific venue save yourself the money and eat...

Is it haute cuisine? No, but it does the job. I like chicken shallow fried and a little bit crispy and I can't always cook at home. The portions are generous, especially if the staff is kind (as they so often are here) - I think if I like staff I spend more often. One of the bigger disappointments (if I had to think of anything) to improve would probably be the rice / noodle option. I understand why it is the way it is (and that it is a chain), but if you (the chain) were to improve anything, that would be where the improvement is to be made (certainly where the rice is concerned) - Affordable tick], Cooked all the way through [tick - Wouldn't say it's particularly good for you but you can eat a million salads and still get struck...
Read moreNo issues with service and place seemed clean from the outset but concern is the food ! It’s really bland and hasn’t been made with any understanding of food especially Chinese food and how it should taste. And no that doesn’t need to cost a fortune Chinese takeaway do it daily.Just feels like someone threw some sticky sauces on everything and drizzled the bases of rice and noodles with a little soya.Thing is I’ve had the one in Tottenham Court Road in central which tastes much better.I hope they review however it is they make the food here and add some flavour.Maybe it’s the process but looks like recipe may need a tweak otherwise.Noodles were gummy and flavourless rice was bland and didn’t even have a flavour of soya despite its colour.Sauces on the chicken also lack any real variety of taste all taste like sweet and sour sauce from a can.For nearly a tenner not worth it.All they need is to add some more flavour and not the same flavour...
