I had a very disappointing experience at Five Guys in Wood Green tonight. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and was shocked by both the poor quality of the food and the dismissive response from management.
The bacon was burned, dry, and bitter. Almost inedible.
The beef patties were severely overcooked and dry, nothing like the juicy burger Five Guys advertises.
The presentation was sloppy, with toppings sliding everywhere and the burger looking carelessly thrown together.
When I politely asked if my bacon could be cooked fresh, the manager flat out refused. To my disgust and surprise, I was told that Five Guys never cooks bacon fresh due to "high demand." Instead, all bacon is cooked first thing in the morning in bulk and then kept hot all day until it’s served. No wonder mine was dry, burned, and awful.
If this is true (WHICH I HOPE IT ISN'T) across all Five Guys restaurants, it is shocking for a chain that markets itself as premium and charges premium prices. I always believed Five Guys stood for freshly prepared, high-quality food. Instead, I received a dried-out burger and a dismissive explanation that showed freshness is clearly not a priority here.

Read moreAbsolute disaster!! The place was almost empty when we arrived and orders a very easy meal - all meet hot dog with pickles and a bacon burger. Of course we waited for a the door at least 15 minutes which was already annoying looking at the business of the store. When I received my hot dog, and I took the first bite, instead of pickles there was Jalapenos in it. I went back to the counter to let the guys know, And so had to wait another 5 minutes with the food in my hand looking confused because no one served me. Finally someone turns around to serve another meal and I get to talk to a worker, I explained what happened and he calls his colleague who made it, And I have to explain myself again, and they ask for my receipt because they have to check if I 'really ordered with pickles . I of course left the store without having my meal because by the time I got my food at the 2nd time my boyfriend finished with his meal because it was another 10 minutes wait. I think this is absolutely ridiculous and a very bad customer service, a customer who paid for their food and got the wrong order being made to prove herself that she gave the right order and is being made to wait another 10 minutes for her food!!...

After I payed and my friend payed more them me but she thought my same food. I have asked him why she payed more then me we saw that he understood bad my order. He told me to not be worried Because he would have put the bacon in my burger and couldn’t have to pay more. I had been waiting my order when the guys behind the counter called before the number of my friend when she went to collet her food she asked for my order, my order was behind the counter to stop there(we don’t why) and when she come to me and explain that They put the bacon on the side, I went to speak to someone of the team , and he said to me that I have to put myself a the bacon inside.
