đ Shepherd's Bush Market đș £5.60 Madri
The Coningham Arms is located at the western end of Shepherdâs Bush, heading towards Acton in West London. It is also close to QPRâs stadium, Loftus Road. The nearest Tube is Shepherdâs Bush Market.
This Victorian corner pub was built in 1881. At first glance the pub looks fairly ordinary due to the simple nature of the ground floor. If you cast your eyes to the upper floors, there is beautifully detailed stonework around the arched windows.
This is a large one bar pub that is simply decorated with a proper boozer feel to it. The servery has a thick solid wood counter and is located down the left-hand side. Towards the back of the bar is a Pool table, a dartboard and a juke box to one side. There is plenty of low level seating plus stools around the servery. Throughout the bar are plenty of large screens and QPR memorabilia. One of my favourite features is the leaded and stained windows which tells you this was once a Charringtonâs pub.
The beer line up will please the masses and included one cask ale. I opted for a Madri, my pint hit the spot and was fairly priced. This is a wet-led pub that doesnât serve food.
We arrived just after 11am on chilly Saturday in November. We were first in the door, so we had a good mooch around the pub. The service was great, the team member who served us was welcoming and friendly. We sat at the bar and chatted about the oldschool nature of the pub and watched the horse racing on one of the screens behind the bar.
This is a down-to-earth localâs boozer which is popular with Shepherdâs Bush locals, QPR fans and the local Irish community. It gets very busy on QPR match days, so choose your time well if youâre planning a visit. We enjoyed our time here, if you love an oldschool boozer, get this one on your list.

Read morePopped in very early afternoon (midweek). From memory it was £4.10 for a Kronenbourg. The Irish lady behind the bar was polite and friendly. The quality of the lager was spot on. The pub has a pool table and shows horse racing during the day. It is a no frills, drinkers' pub. Given the area, I am not not sure how welcoming the locals would be on a busy friday night. I would go back...
Read moreGreat pub - traditional and a bit " spit n sawdust " in there which is why I love it , and Football days have a great atmosphere. Landlord knows how to run a pub - serves people in order ( not locals first) and staff keep an eye on who's next in line to be served , sounds obvious, but that's rare these days - Proper...
