Great place - easily our new favorite place on Uxbridge Road, and honestly, in the whole neighborhood. We went for dinner this week, as it's just re-opened this month; it's a cafe during the day and then traditional Afghan food in the evening. Sublime.
Absolute standouts included the aubergine starter - it's gives my husband's Sicilian grandmother a run for her money as the best way to make aubergines.
And the pumpkin. Oh, the pumpkin. Get the pumpkin. Get the pumpkin if you have any sense. I don't really even like pumpkin and this is the best way to eat any vegetable. Sweet and savory and delicious, soaked up with some steaming nann. It's my new must-have dish.
We also had the traditional mantu dumplings with minced lamb and yogurt, and some divine rice, buttery, with carrots, spices and sultanas. To finish, we had a pistachio and rosewater pudding, accompanied with strong black tea, that I really didn't think I had room for, but then I tasted, and I totally found room. For every last bite. So good.
The chef came out to greet us at the end - really lovely guy who's passionate about his food and his place.
It's even currently BYO, which makes it a smashing deal. Great prices and generous portios top it all off. We'll...

I was walking by this place many times and decided to try it because I learned it is Afghanistan food and I'd never eaten that before, the chef is a woman and the owner are both Afgani, and I can share the food is delicious. If you live nearby you must try this low key, hole in the wall ...
Read moreI ordered their takeaway special yesterday, kebab and rice. It was very bland and poor value for money, simple white rice and meat - no salad, bread or sauce like many places would offer. Worse than this, and the reason I felt I needed to write a review, was the lack of hygiene. I watched the chef use his hands to put my rice into the box and then he ate the stray flecks off his hand, before using the same hand to move the rice around in the box. I had a sore stomach later and believe this place is to blame. The pictures show what was advertised versus...
