This branch of Costa can get very noisy so I avoid it if I’m working. Today I had lots to do and found a quiet area. Unfortunately the three staff members seemed more interested in talking to each other. It’s a bit off putting when you feel you are disturbing the staff, rather than them being attentive.
Anyway I wanted toast. Many places do not do toast and the few that do struggle to get this simple order right. It’s one of the downsides of British people not working in coffee shops and cafes any longer. The assistant took a big too long to reach the machine after the ping. Then she asked if I wanted both sides toasted. And again she waited a bit before collecting the toast.
Although the toast was brown it looked a bit too well done. It was only after I’d reached my table that I discovered there was no butter, just the knife. So I returned to the counter for butter. By the time I buttered the toast, it was so hard that I couldn’t eat any of it except the centre. Hungry, I gnawed away at some of the area near the crust. It was a very unpleasant breakfast. Read moreI ordered a large coffee and was given a small coffee so I told the girl serving and she checked that that was what I paid for and made me another coffee. However this was wrong once again. Not only was my order wrong twice but I was given milk that i did not order because im allergic to it. I felt my coffee tasted strange and didn’t finish it however I have been sick and having terrible stomach cramps due to being given the wrong milk. Thankfully I will get over this but for some people this mistake could be more serious. Anyway we took our chai lattes sat down and both were warm. My partner took his back there was a very loud girl who acted like manager she said let me check temperature then she said this 49 degrees it is fine!
