Costa Coffee — Restaurant in London

I've just been through the drive through. I took a little while to decide what I wanted & while I did they dealt with something in store & said let us know when you're ready. Not a problem, sensible move as far as I'm concerned. I told them I was ready when they were & they were quick to take my order, still no problem. My problem is when I got to the window. The man that gave me my order was very surly. Didn't offer me any sweetener or sugar and when I asked it was a gruff "how many". The whole time he was talking to another member of staff. There was no smile or pleasantries at all, no manners either, I didn't get a "thank you" when I handed my payment over or at anytime. He also handled virtually all of my stirrer with his hand when he gave me my sweeteners. Since when has it been ok to make the customer feel like they're a pain...

When the staff were serving me they were very polite and friendly.

While waiting to be served and waiting for my coffee the staff seem to be under pressure, rushing around and abrupt conversations between them. Also they were dealing with drive through customers (on headsets). It made me feel like I was in their way.

I was served my drink with an apology for the wait (there wasn't much of a wait). Then the staff had to rush back to dealing with other things.

The staff were great but I feel the management of the staff is where the problem is. On reading other reviews on this place there seems to be similar experiences.

The shop has a lovely large seating area, nice and bright.

Walked in at 5.40pm. Had to wait an age to get served, while members of staff are more worried about fill the display racks. Drive thur seem to get priority over walk in's. Once we got served we where informed that "we close in 10 minutes". Thats fine we can been done in that time. Order two drink and 2 piece of cake to have in. Drinks were served in takeaway cups, not China that I expected for a sit in order. Then at big on 6pm the front door is locked with a number of customers still inside. Not only did I fine this rude but this must be a safety issue to.

The staff did not want us in there basically. Coffee good Cake good Staff poor Atmosphere poor.

This store needs to address...
