Moved into the area recently and have tried here a few times (eating in and takeaway); and on all occasions very enjoyable and good service. However, the most recent time was so poor that I felt the need to leave this 1-star review.
We had ordered online for takeaway and waiting 2 hours for our food. It was a Saturday night and being in the industry, completely understood on the delay when calling after 1hr and 15 mins. I did feel the communication was very poor and I was being extremely patient. When I finally received my order, it was honestly the worst, watery and flavourless dish I have ever tried. My partner came back from work by this point and tried it top; and was shocked after enjoying this restaurant numerous times.
Don't get me wrong, we all have bad days but when I called to politely complain, the restaurant essentially told me I was wrong and wouldn't offer a refund because I had thrown it in the bin. It was that bad, I couldn't eat and had to order elsewhere.
It is a huge shame because I would have given them another chance but the rudeness I got was shocking and will not be going back, nor recommending this place anymore to...
Read moreI have walked and driven past this restaurant so many times over the last 25 years and always fancied giving it a try. I wish I hadn't waited so long because this place is fabulous, non-pretentious, good old-fashioned Indian; I'm talking about the food and price. The restaurant itself is modern decor with very comfortable seating; not horrible wicker chairs like the Mexican restaurant opposite I always find trying the poppadoms a good predictor of how the rest of the meal is going to go. If they are soft and lukewarm, then that indicates what is to come. Not good The ones we had were crisp and hot A good sign And I was right Onion Bhajias massive and delicious Balti Chicken tikka; heaven! Mushroom pilau rice; perfect! I couldn't believe the price of £35 for two. In London! Cheap and good very rarely go together in my home city. But Curry Nights is a most welcome exception to this rule Most of the negative reviews are for takeaway. Don't be lazy. Make an effort to go to the restaurant and enjoy a night out Service so friendly...
Read moreFirst time trying Curry nights and ordered online for delivery due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Spent approximately £30 for a meal for two people. Delivery was fast (I do live close to the restaurant) but the food in particular the curries ordered (the main part of the meal): chicken and prawn korma were inedible. The prawns / chicken had no seasoning and the sauce base on both kormas was shocking for an Indian restaurant. It tasted of water and cheap coconut cream combined. Both curries went straight into the bin - bearing in mind they were £7 pounds a pop! I can say that the okra stew was very tasty and alot cheaper at £3.75. The garlic naan was also nice but to expensive at 2.75 per naan.I have had better indian cuisine else where. Based on my experience I will not order from this resturant again as the curries...
