I don’t even know where to start with this. You have to be Mathematician to order from here - and even then you can be guaranteed that they bring the right order, right amount, or even place the right dish In front of you.
It started with a very confusing menu design. Definitely something that needs to be worked on. the menu says; tacos £2 but a 1 portion is 2 tacos and how to order (that we order ourselves on a piece of paper with a pencil and the staff weren’t able to even count that) They couldn’t even count the right amount of tacos to bring us. And the taco…. they were AWFULL!! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL
Small pieces of cold tortilla with a tablespoon of mush on top. Plates just thrown on the table. No idea what is what. Or who ordered what.
The staff were just so childish. I’ve had better service from a school ground bake sale!
They were playing and biting each other behind the counter, punching and giggling so loud. Was very uncomfortable to be around.
The nachos!! Omg the worst nachos (if I can even call them that) Simply!! tortilla chips with hot sauce poured over. NO SLASA. NO AVO. NO CHEESE. NO SOURCREAM £9!!!! Absolutely ridiculous…..
The table water smelt horrid as well. Must’ve been sitting in those bottles for ages and wonder when they were last cleaned.
Service. At the end. When we tried to explain that I hadn’t even received my tacos as all was just thrown on the table and we didn’t know what was what as also the presentation.
The service was so ignorant. I eventually asked for the service charge to be removed. To which another member of the staff joined our waiter for some unknown reason to be apart of this conversation. The attitude I received after, left a worse taste in my mouth than the nachos.
Eventually we had enough of waiting to pay while he cleaned tables as we were the last ones and also wanted to get out. We started to leave and he came over once he noticed we had our coats on.
This place was an embarrassment from start to finish. Cringe worthy And would highly recommend that you avoid it. A food truck would serve better standards...
Read moreIf you fancy some awesome food, extremely friendly service and a great atmosphere, but the purse strings are feeling a little tight as we draw closer to the end of the month, then head down to Del74 in Dalston for Taco Tuesday. Every taco at Del74 is just £2!! That’s not all – you can make the most of this amazing deal every day as long as you get there between 5pm and 7pm for their fabulous happy hour!
What I loved so much about this place is that the atmosphere it oozes is a real reflection of the staff – happy, eccentric and laid back. The guys who started Del74 started off as a pop up in Clapton serving just three types of tacos and one beer with the idea that less is more. Now with two restaurants in East London they are still true to their initial vibe with a real simple but delicious menu.
With 2 starters to choose from, 2 tostadas, 3 types of quesadillas and 7 types of tacos, this is a perfectly simple menu which focuses on delivering flavoursome food. To start we had the super spicy chicken wings and the nachos:
Taco wise we tried them all – steak, fish and cauliflower cracking and the steak quesadilla – just all bursting with flavour.
The drinks were also pretty amazing – we had the michelada beer and a watermelon mezcal margarita (reminded me of Mexico!).
With some of the friendliest staff I have ever met. and some of the best tacos I’ve ever tried, I will most certainly be making the most of taco Tuesdays, so I will be...
Read moreI have been coming to your bar for happy hour beers for the last two years, and I have always rated Del 74 quite highly. However, it's with regret I have to submit a complaint and inform you that you have fallen short of the high standards you have always set out.
I went to meet my Mum at Del 74, and she was running early so I told her to grab a beer while she wait. My Mum was met with a hostile welcome by one of your female employees. She was told she needed to order food with her beer. She ordered some tacos and a beer and sat down. Your employee then came over and informed my Mum that she spoke to the manager and that my Mum had to order a meal if she wanted to stay. So my Mum got the hint, got her coat and left. There was only two customers present in your bar, so I'm surprised you pushed her out the door.
I don't know whether you just introduced strict Happy Hour rules (I never had to order food with a beer, and I can't see this rule anywhere on your website), or whether you are ageist and didn't want my Mum being there, but the way you treated her was awful. My Mum felt like she wasn't welcome because of her age. You should never make people feel like that. It's horrible.
I'm writing to you so you never make anyone else feel like this again. It's not fair. You have lost yourself a customer- don't make the mistake of...
