Worse restaurant I have ever been too! The service or lack of it was terrible! The staff were rude especially the Male waiter and the food was raw! As I was going to the restaurant with children I had pre ordered a platter which was agreed by the male waiter earlier in the day. When I got to the restaurant I was told I could not have the platter and I have to order from a set menu costing my party of 7 £27.50 for each person, given the fact that 3 persons were children. I then said I will not eat as there is nothing on the menu that I like as I was expecting the platter. The male waiter insisted that I have to order a £27.50 set price meal from the set menu. I said I'd rather not and the deposit I made could be kept, the male waiter insisted I had to order. As I was already there for a show that was being held at the venu I agreed to pay for the £27.50 meals. The waiter's have no manners leaning over us with their full armpit in to our faces and over our food. I know the place is small but they could have asked for us to excuse them. The starters were so small I.e a baby size portion which were to share! Cutting in to the meat, it was raw! I told the Male waiter it was raw instead of bringing me a fresh plate he took the meat back re-cooked it and brought it back. To cut a very long string of events short, I called the waiter to tell him there was more raw meat on my plate he rudely told me they don't cook the food fully and I would next time have to ask for it to be well done. I told him I work for the council and he said 'and what! The boss's wife works for the council. I told him 'and what' when I report him to tranding standards and the food hygiene authority for serving raw meat! I told him the service is very bad as I mentioned all the above and he started being very rude. I will never come back here again! And the bill totalled to £240.50 - a £60 deposit. I gave the atmosphere 2 starts because the show that was being hosted there was good, otherwise I would have given no stars if I could. Thank you for your reply: In response to it, a platter was discussed prior to coming to your restaurant due to my children's special needs. It is not right for you to comment that the ages of my children are above 11 as developmentally that is not correct. A question pop up in the review asking if your restaurant is child friendly. For me on that night it was not, due to my children's special needs. The meat I was first served was lamb shish which was raw (I did not take a photo of that) I sent the dish back for a fresh well done plate. The same plate came back with the same lamb cooked a little more. Then I cut in to the kofta and the same thing, not cooked well done. Mentioning my association with the council was not a threat as you perceived it, but it was merely pointing out I know my rights as a customer. I.e consumer rights, trading standards. I do not believe my demeanor was challenging, I merely asked for a platter that was agreed by the manager the day before, to get to your restaurant and to be told it is not possible was very distressing for my children due to their special needs. I have been to other Turkish restaurants with my children and not had an experience such as this. But thank you for you conclusion.

Overall, Stone Cave is a charming spot in Dalston with a cozy atmosphere and great vibes. The food was good across the board, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very welcoming throughout our visit. However, I was really disappointed with the Iskender. Traditionally, it’s made with doner or thinly sliced grilled lamb, but here it was served with kofta instead, which felt like a major deviation from the classic dish. It just didn’t hit the mark for me, especially since I came in looking forward to that specific flavor and texture. That said, everything else we ordered was tasty, and I would still recommend Stone Cave. Just keep in mind the Iskender may not be what you expect.

Decent Mediterranean food! The ambience inside is really nice, they’ve done a great job with the cave-esque interior and the lighting is cool. Food was really good, and served quickly. The hot and cold starters for two with a handful of other bits was perfect for a couple to share. Vegan, vegetarian and meat available, so everyone is covered! Finally shoutout to the gentleman that served us yesterday, his service was really good!

So we went to this place last night to celebrate a birthday party. To say we were surprised by a 'new' policy was an understatement. As a party of 14 we were sat at a table for 6?! As we arrived at 11pm most of our party didn't want to eat. HOWEVER we were given no choice! We had to eat, all of us and we had to pay a minimum of £15 per person. If we didn't we would have relinquish the table. Aghast by this but not wanting to cause a scene we agree to food. We then order two bottles of wine to begin with which the waiter proceeds to spill over the birthday girl and friend 1/4 of the bottle (by accident) but without so much as an apology. To maintain the spirit of the evening we await our meze (not forgetting we are going to pay £15pp) the plates arrive that are no larger then a (tea) saucer only square in shape ie very small. 3 plates was just enough one person. Only 15 of these plates arrived. That obviously means one per person. I have lived in Haringey for 2 years and know that the Turkish restaurants are normally very generous with portions, so this was the complete opposite. Total rip off and very poor attitude. They get 2 stars 1. For location to transport and 1 for food/music which was tasty but at all nothing special for a half decent...

HORRIBLE! Just had one the worse food experience in a while! Went twice before and it was absolutely delicious which is hard to believe now. I was about to swap from Mangal II to Stone Cave which seem to have wonderful quality juicy meat and great zingy fresh salads. I just went there and ordered some of the driest grilled sardines I've ever had, which were advertised with lemon coriander and leaves but didn't have anything but a pile of desiccated bones with no flavour. We ordered a babaganoush which didn't seem to have any aubergine in it ( it seemed as if they didn't have any left and tried to make one up) but seemed composed of yogurt and bits of bad peppers (!?). Then the mains arrived everything seemed fist-handily microwaved, was very dry, bland and was obviously not fresh. Such contrast with what I had before in my previous experiences there!! I don't know what happened? If the cook is not there on Mondays? If they microwave old stuff? or if the owner/cook changed? Such a shame! I wouldn't have written this review and probably gave them another chance next time considering my previous experiences but felt very ill after which doesn't ever...
