I stopped by here on a whim with my son. It's an adorable little spot near Essex station.
The food was simply FABULOUS!! The attention to detail and quality was simply bar none! The breads are all made on site. The focaccia with the apple and cinnamon topped with ice cream is simply divine!
We ordered the Truffle turkey with eggs and mushrooms and the Spanish Tortilla. The turkey dish was so delicious that my son who doesn't like mushroom ate it all! The pan tomate was really fresh and garlicky and a great compliment to the Spanish Tortilla. Really excellent food. Portions are on the large side. Vegan options available and they even make their own vegan cheese!
I took home the brownies and they are cooked just slightly soft so the middle simply melts in your mouth!
The space itself while small is warm and inviting. The owner is the nicest guy and really passionate about what he does. I simply can't wait...
Read moreI wanted some brunch and I was on a budget, so I enter what looks like a coffee shop from outside but there was no name on the building. I ask the guy there, who turns out to be the owner if the place has a name. He says that not yet, as he needs to pay for advertisement and he is just started the place. I had a vegan plate with lovely veggies and a piece of his amazing sourdough bread with a thin layer of tomatoes on top. Everything was amazing, the bread was fresh with such an amazing flavour. He told me all about his sourdough. Then he told me the story of his family sourdough which lasted 7 years and had an amazing flavour. The ferment died as one of the members of his family placed the sourdough next to the heater. Ovidi is amazing company and cooks everything for scrach. He pours his heart in his cooking and cares deeply about...
Read moreI've tried this place once to work with a coffee - but it barely had (and has any space and the wifi wasn't functioning.
But today's, second experience convinced me not to return. We booked a table for four, which is a wonder in a small space like this in itself, - when we arrived the only table wasn't free, so we had to have people sent away to less comfy seats and we got nasty looks. We waited for 30 mins for someone to take our order (it was the 4 of us plus 6 other people and two staff, so nothing frantic). We got our coffees after 40 mins of our arrival and got our food an hour after arrival. This is not service what you are providing. It is a different topic that the food was nice, but it is definitely not worth for me waiting 60 mins in an overcrowded...
