The first time I went to this restaurant was nearly 6 months back. And I tried their chicken biriyani which was so good. I even recommended that to my friends saying this is the best chicken biriyani I even had since I came to UK as it tasted exactly like the one I used to eat in Chennai. I was really expecting to taste the same biriyani when I went in today. Me & my friends were so hungry. They suggested another place, but I literally dragged them here saying they have nice food. So today we went in and ordered a special fried rice, a chicken biriyani & a chicken kothu & chicken lollipop. The chicken lollipop was ok. But the chicken biriyani & kothu was such a disappointment. This was the worst biriyani I even had. It had no flavour, not properly seasoned. All it had was some mint leaves with rice and chicken. The one I had today can’t even called as biriyani. And the chicken kothu was so soggy. It seemed like they added more curry to make it soggy. Even though I accept the soggy kothu drenched in curry, the taste was bad. There was no taste at all. The only one that tasted good was the special fried rice. I was so hungry so I ate only half of my biriyani since I’m paying anyway. But I couldn’t even get myself to finish it. Even the waitress who served us saw our half eaten plates and asked if wanted to take the food home to which we said no. And I think she understood something was wrong and asked if we liked the food. So we gave her our feedback and I even asked her if they had changed their chef. So whoever wants to go there, please don’t get their biriyani or kothu. The waitress was friendly and the ambiance is good. The food was the major let down though. We were hungry when we left the place. So we went to McDonald’s and grabbed a burger. My friends literally scolded me for...

Went for dinner here last night with my family. I had not been to this restaurant in over 8 years. I believe it had a change of ownership some years back. We used to come here regularly so it was nice to come back.

Parking was a little tricky as we came by car. It is very close to the tube station also. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived as it was early (5.30pm). The waiter was quite friendly and advised us on some dishes. We had the chicken 65, chilli paneer, ghee roast dosa, channa masala and some tandoori roti. There were a few things we wanted that were on the menu but they said they don’t do anymore . The menu looked a bit tired - would be good to update their menus if there are some dishes on it that are not available anymore .

Food was pretty good. The amount of paneer in the chilli paneer was pretty small but it tasted good. Maybe it was meant as a starter but I think the portion could have been better. It was spicy but I liked it. The chicken 65 wasn’t up to my standard- but too dry and not very succulent but was ok with the tamarind sauce. Channa masala was great and the dosa was lovely .

The toilets were fairly clean which was good- one thing that bothers me on some restaurants is when they add water to the soap to use every last bit. I mean don’t get me wrong - it’s great not to waste but when i can’t wash my hands as just some splats of water with hardly any detergent come out it’s slightly annoying- even just but a cheap hand soap I don’t care , but don’t penny pinch on this . If you are worried then put it on a lockable dispenser !

I would come back again as it’s close to us and we wanted dosa and some non veg dishes which this restaurant caters to. Overall it’s pretty good and quite good...

I’m very familiar with (an English take on) North Indian food having probably eaten a curry at least once a week since I was young. I’m from Leicestershire, and my family are foodies, so I’ve never been short of options!

However, despite knowing my way around a Northern Indian curry, I was pretty new to South Indian cuisine.

On a Weds night, I popped in on my own, on the way back from a long day at work and was quickly greeted with friendly service and seated at a table as soon as one was cleared.

After ordering a draught beer, I asked my lovely waitress Mitali to recommend some dishes. After a bit of chit chat, we jointly decided I should try the Mysore masala dosa and the chef’s special aubergine curry.

I subsequently indulged in one of (if not the) best Indian meals I’ve had in my life - which is some feat!

Absolutely sublime. Flavour sensation.

I will be returning and recommending to all my family and friends.

No frills, but exceptional food and service at reasonable prices.

The service across the board was great but a special shout out to Mitali for the recommendations…thanks!

If you’re new to South Indian cuisine, trust the recommendations, you will not be disappointed!

Will be back...

came here for dinner on 16th July. This is the best south Indian restaurant in London and I said what I said. I had Mini Idli Dipped in Hot vegetable Sambar, and it was cooked to perfection. Might be controversial but this is how idli meant to be eaten. The sambar is spicy so maybe take it seriously if you’re white or not tolerant to hot spices. More about the Idli, this is the food that reminds you of your roots, and bring out your strength, and this is the kind of food that fuelled independence of our countries back then. I also had Masala Dosa, and I am not exaggerating when i said this was the best south Indian restaurant in Tooting. The chutneys (coconut, mint, tomato, dhal (sambar)) were perfect but i was obsessed with the coconut chutney. Highly recommended! The service was amazing. I am one of those people who prefers the near presence of waiters/staffs in the restaurant but I dont want check backs, and they offered just that! Always a few people to attend to you, but never intrude your space. My server was Tania. She was amazing, polite, and her energy was exactly perfect for me. 5/5.

I've been here before, the interior design has changed and it looks more lovely. The food quality has also changed from ratings from 4* to 0* if possible. The price has increased vastly and portion size has also decreased. The food which I had ordered was (Lamb Kothu, Special fried rice, Sambar Vada 2x mango lassi). Lamb Kothu - filled with cholesterol (oily) cummin seeds, mustards seeds, and lot more you taste the oil and the spices more than the flavouring. Special fried rice - Filled with Cholesterol (oily) Filled with spices and no flavour. Sambar vada - A total rip off for the price, vada was so small and it was burnt not visible as the Sambar covered the burnt, but tasted so bad. Mango Lassi - was okay not much to say neither bad or good. Overall It felt as if I was paying the restaurant for a service to damage my own health. Honestly was so disappointed, I left to go a get a burger from Sam's Chicken. The food was a appalling.
