Allergy users Beware:
In short I ordered food without Fresh Onion as I am currently having issues with my Crohns Disease making it impossible for me to digest this. We decided to go to Honest as they advertise as catering to people like myself.
Me and my partner specified that we wanted this removed in the order by removing it when selecting the meal and also in the notes for restaurant section.
When the burger arrived it had this Black substance on my burger, Also didnt have any cheese or the Brownmayo you would normally see on a smash burger
after having 2 bites we realised it was a thick glupey Onion type Chutney.
Double checking on the site we found no reference to this and also we have been to this restaurant several times without having this on the burger before / we got our regular order which again has never had this before.
I then called the restaurant to inform them of their mistake, the guy on the phone gaslighted me saying its always been like that and if I wanted the correct burger I should of called them before hand. He also said that they don't read the tickets every time from delivery apps.
I found this last comment rather rude and dangerous because they made a burger without anything we asked for and then put on some onion chutney and made out that I was the fool for not calling them up to confirm that they have read the ticket correctly / they weren't putting on unwanted extras outside of the normal menu .
I was then violently ill for the rest of the evening and haven't left the bathroom until this morning. Happy 31st Birthday to me eh.
You could argue i should of double checked the burger before eating it but i would rebuttal they have never added this onion chutney before, but i would also say its not fair to put the onus on the customer to check for your lack of quality control.
Poor Service, Poor Customer Service, to top this off Uber eats have rejected a refund on my burger after the food made me ill.
Cant in good conscious recommend this place to anyone with health issues.
In before the 'urm acktually' reply from Honest giving some bs reason why it wasnt their fault to cover themselves from any wrong doing and say its...
Read moreI am a big fan of Honest burgers. Having worked through my way of pretty much every burger joint during covid - I found my die hards, Honest burgers being one. I have always had great experiences, that was until Last night.
I placed a click and collect order, and ended up with the most tragic meal, something I haven't had in a long time. Arriving 5 min prior to my allocated time slot (ensuring I collected it fresh off the griddle); there was an issue with the allocation of said burger . The hostess, said that the 'lady before her' hadn't processed the ticket, so the meal was yet to be made. Offered me a complementary wings for the inconvenience, and the burger would ready in 10 mins. No harm ,no foul, stuff happens, I was in the least perturbed. Free chicken wings - I accept, yes sass. Popped into the shop across the road, again returning within the allocated time slot. Greeted by a different hostess, I grabbed my meal and trotted home. A quick walk home, now being 21:35, I was ravenous .
Open the bag - SHAME, no chicken wings. Oh well, obviously a communication issue due to staff change . Open the burger box - TRAGIC. The chips were luke warm , stale and dryer than the Sahara dessert. Clearly reheated or left sun tanning under the kitchen lamp. The burger was luke warm, with the bun having extra crunch and the cheese solidified ; not even a good micro nuke would save the day. Did I eat it - sadly yes, I was ravenous. Having literally just moved to the area, the only food alternatives I have is a jar of christmas honey and marshmallows . Wasted calories, yes; but being almost 10pm it is what it is .
Perhaps my lost burger was found and reunited to me. I would have preferred it stay missing. Whatever it was , that burger was not fresh of the griddle.
A pity, as mistakes happen and the hostess were friendly and tried to recitfy it. But sending out food of poorer quality , that doesn't meet the standard is a big no go .
I was somewhat concerned having a favourite burger joint so close to me . I did cancel deliveroo to control my new found covid hobby, now addiction dubbed life long passion . I don't forsee this...
Read moreThe only reason this review has more than a 1* rating is because the food is reasonably tasty. Albeit the lemonade was watery and overpriced (much like everything else), the burgers were small and the chips were dry, I understand rent is expensive in London and they've got to make money somehow. I am appalled, however, at the shocking customer service. My boyfriend had warned me about a previous visit where the waitress (the supposed 'supervisor') questioned and penalised him about only wanting water and at the end of the evening tried to give him her number. I took it with a pinch of salt until the waitress took my boyfriend's order for his drink and then walked away without even looking at me! The second waitress who served us - while the other stood idly twiddling her thumbs - came over and abruptly stated "Are you ready?" I was half expecting her to finish the sentence with "Or not?". She then almost did the same thing as the other waitress had my boyfriend not made a point of asking me if I wanted anything. Whilst we were eating she stood by the window on several occasions, slumped on the counter, people watching (as if there weren't customers to attend to or pounding music to turn down). For the entire painful experience I felt ignored and frustrated, I refuse to accept this level of rudeness just because a waitress fancies my boyfriend or it's "just how they are in London". Though the latter is much more likely, either excuse is a terrible justification for rude staff who blatantly don't want to be there. I should have listened when he suggested anywhere but there, I am disgusted and we will never...
