Where do I even begin?! If I could give 0 stars for this restaurant, I definitely would! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant to the moment I had food and finished, it's been a horrible experience!! When the waitresss was taking my order, I asked her if they could subsitute the mushroom in the mushroom burger for the "This isn't Bacon" and she was absolutely clueless! She said she will find out as she wasn't sure. As we were in a rush, I then ordered the avocado on sourdough. It was quite pricey so thought the portion would be big but when it came, it was a small portion, I was very surprised! It's definitely not worth the £11.95 that they charge for it. I also asked for halloumi sticks and made sure to tell the waitress to not put any eggs in my meal but when the halloumi arrived, they were covered in chipotle mayo, which contains eggs! I had to ask another waiter to exchange them but even then, he initially was being lazy and did not want to. I then managed to convince him to give me a new portion as I can't have anything with eggs in. It's appalling service and if someone has an allergy, I'm not sure this restaurant would be able to deal with it in a appropriate manner. I then wanted to order a hot chocolate, but the waitress came back to say they had ran out of chocolate and are awaiting delivery. I mean a huge restaurant like this with no hot chocolate which is all over the menu?! Appalling! I then HAD to order the red berry tea, which usually comes in a teapot but then noticed, the teapot is only a cup's worth of tea! Prices are extortionate.
And lastly, to put the icing on the cake, we asked for the bill. This lady named Karina, who had no involvement in serving us at all throughout our time there, came to take the payment. It was a bill of £75 and there were 3 of us, so if she had used her common sense, it should gave been roughly ~£20 each. My friend paid £25 first and I was next to pay. I informed her I wanted to pay £24.44 but she was so incompetent and seemed illiterate, with English as a language barrier, charged me £44.44! She did not show me the amount on the card machine and I only noticed after I was paying using contactless on my phone but by then, it was too late!! My friend was yet to pay but we decided she would send a bank transfer to me to make things easier as I was charged more than I needed to! It put me in an awkward situation with my friends, which was unnecessary. This waitress, although she apologised, still caused alot of stress and discomfort to me and she clearly needs to be retrained as she has no skills in serving patients or listening to them. Her excuse was "It was too loud, she could not hear what I said". This lack of customer service and rude behaviour is appalling and must be investigated. Definitely avoid this restaurant as the customer service is rubbish and appalling! Their food license also needs to be reviewed as they would not have the capacity to deal with allergens!
DEFINITELY AVOID...
Read moreHonestly, I was hugely disappointed. It became a comedy of errors no-one was laughing at by the end... We made our order, and the waitress came back to say the drinks we wanted weren't available, so we ordered an alternative. The alternative didn't arrive and we had to ask for it 3 times. It was delivered with an apology which was appreciated. The "pot" of tea, wasn't even half full, and even though it was fresh leaf, which was great, there was no holder for the used leaves, so just left a messy wet patch on the table or saucer. We asked for a pot of hot water to top it up with and we were brough an entire 2nd pot (which I believe we were actually charged for now I come to think of it...) A bottle of sparkling water finally turned up, but was poured into a glass with ice, which I'd specifically asked for without. The table all ordered waffles. The mango one was dry but fine as the mango and sauce coated it, but the chicken one was so horrifically over cooked we couldn't even cut through the chicken. We were given an exchange, which was insanely fast and for which I am grateful, but the chicken was still badly over cooked, and we just wanted to be done and get out by this point. Even though there were tonnes of tables available as the restaurant was quiet, we had a huge party put next to us, which definitely put a dampener on our "quiet table", which I believe was asked for at booking as one of the party was hard of hearing. In regards to the staff, the host was delightful. She was chatty, friendly and polite, and to be quite frank the highlight of our brunch. The waitress however, didn't seem to understand basic questions that we asked multiple times, was difficult to encourage to come over, and although was never rude, was quite abrupt and didn't seem to want to be there. There was who I think was a manager, who delivered the missing alternative drink and gave us bathroom directions, but it came across as if we were a nuisance, and she had better things to be doing with her time - which she probably did; but who knows! No-one likes to be made to feel like they're not wanted. The place was spotlessly clean (although a place to pop jackets/brolly's when it's pouring might be an idea?), the bathrooms were clean and soaps/hand cream etc were freshly topped up, and lighting and music were at a comfortable level seeing as we had someone deaf in the party. We definitely enjoyed our catch up on a personal level, but I think we would have enjoyed it significantly more at another restaurant or even a coffee house nearby. Having been before, I was hugely disappointed, and unfortunately I don't think any of us would choose or make the...
Read moreWow, wow, wow what an amazing place. I’m not going to lie, I did not spend a lot of money in this place in fact only had two cups of coffee but what a great venue. It’s so classy from the outside to the minute you walk in, to when you leave. I went there today for a meeting with my colleagues and was greeted on entrance in such a warm and lovely fashion by a lady by the name of Cristina she did not for a second question why I was there but was more than helpful in directing me to my colleagues.
This place is part of the new development of King’s Cross and for anyone who remembers King’s Cross from years ago will be amazed how much the area has changed and this venue is a testimonial to that change. I’ve actually never seen such an amazingly well put together place, on the outside they have blankets and hearing for those who want to sit outside for year round dining even though it’s chilly, it looks fabulous.
This bar and restaurant is almost visually perfect to me that is. On my next visit I definitely will be trying the grills and a glass of wine.
So I went downstairs and the area was spacious but cosy at the same time and beautiful. Well decorated with really nice floral displays and a nicely laid out bar with a wide range of drinks. The seating is perfect for groups of friends and businesses meetings, there is also a private dining area set apart, nice indeed.
I have to say the men’s toilets are delightfully clean and well designed. The coffee we had was very nice but needs to be hotter when served that’s my only complaint. The ground floor is open and so well designed it has the wow factor. They have a well stocked bar that caters for all types, you can always tell a good venue by the variety of tonics they stock they serve Schweppes alongside other brands so that means they don’t follow trends but serve what customers want.
After my meeting in the way out I met the equally delightful Dora who sent me on my way with such a positive energy that I can’t wait to go back. Great staff makes the experience that much better. Will I go back? Yes 100% yes in fact, I booked another meeting with the National sales director of Coca Cola based on my experience in this visit. Great place highly...
