If I could give a rating less than 1, then I would, but unfortunately I can’t. The food here is abysmal. I happened to end up here on New Year’s Eve, and it was the worst way to end 2022.
We ordered mutter paneer, which was awfully sweet. The stuffed paratha hardly had any whole wheat flour in it, in fact it was made with white flour, which ended up making it so oily. The mango lassi was so sour and diluted, and wasn’t sweet at all. And the worst of all, is what they pass as raitha, it was literally natural yogurt with some shavings of cucumber on top, it didn’t even have any salt in it. The cheese naan, mushroom gravy and garlic naan were decent, but didn’t actually get a chance to eat it, due to the horrible service. The waiters were rude since the beginning, after I told the manager about the issues with the food, one of the waiter’s started being really aggressive. The manager advised him to take the dishes we didn’t like off our table, but this waiter tried to clear the whole table and indirectly asked us to get up and leave. He also made snide comments about us to the neighbouring table. What upset me the most was the managers response to my complaints. He got all defensive and tried to argue with me that this is how Indian food is meant to be and they’ve been doing this for the past 40 years, so they can’t go wrong at all. Having worked in hospitality myself and being an Indian, I disagree.
Started new years hungry and upset, so never going back...

Last night, I set out on a noble quest with my daughter: to find the finest Indian cuisine within a 20-minute radius. Google, that trusty oracle, guided us to Dulwich Tandoori, a place where the stars shone brightly in the form of reviews. Well, let me tell you, dear reader, it was a decision as wise as a sage on a mountaintop.
Upon the esteemed recommendation of our host, Maz — a gentleman whose service could make royalty feel like commoners — we indulged in the Lamb Shank Jalfrezi and Butter Chicken. These dishes were nothing short of a revelation. The lamb, tender enough to make you weep, and the Butter Chicken, a creamy symphony in a bowl, paired delightfully with a crisp Kingfisher beer. It was as though the culinary gods themselves had smiled upon us.
Maz served us with the grace and precision of a seasoned butler in a royal court, and by the end, we felt not like customers, but like long-lost monarchs. We shall return, if not for the food, then certainly to bask in the glow of Maz’s impeccable service.
Five stars, and a bow of gratitude to...
Read moreAwful. We ordered multiple dishes through Uber Eats. On arrival some of the containers weren’t sealed properly so the food spilled out, popadums were crushed. We didn’t receive the butter chicken or prawn biryani or extra mango chutney we ordered but instead a strange looking pink lamb dish (see photo) and chicken biryani. The food we did receive looked poor quality. I don’t know if they mixed up the dishes with another order or just lazy packing. We called and they seemed disinterested, told us to contact Uber Eats instead, not their fault (apart from possibly the split containers) as the receipt clearly has our correct order. Never again..
I’m adding this in response to the reply below. The photo of the pink dish is not chicken, it’s 100% lamb, we did not receive a butter chicken of any kind. We DID receive a biryani but it was chicken NOT prawn as ordered. We have more photos if you want us to send them. We called you immediately as mentioned above and your staff member had no interest in fixing the issue, instead telling us to contact Uber Eats. Accept that you messed up and promise to do better rather than blaming...
