Booked a table specifically for the açai bowls after looking at their menu online a week ago. We had been sat for a while looking at their menu and waiting for someone to come take our order. However, this menu was slightly different to the one we had seen online previously, and didn’t have any açai bowls. As it had been a while waiting for someone to take our order, we noticed a QR code on the table saying ‘scan to order’. So, I scanned and ordered our brunch, including an açai bowl which was on this menu from the QR code. After we had ordered and paid online, a waiter came to take our order and when I said I had already ordered online, he said that there were some things that were unavailable on that menu, including the açai bowl. Felt like this should’ve been mentioned when we sat down but no one had come to visit our table at all. After saying there was no açai bowl, the waiter walked off and we were left wondering what to do as we had already paid. 5 mins later he came back and told me I could get the açai smoothie and add granola to it. As I had been craving açai, I said okay to it.
The purple rain smoothie was okay, not worth £8.95 by any means, and bear in mind the granola and peanut butter would’ve been extra toppings. It was pretty bland and boring and the granola on top of the smoothie was a bad idea as this made it hard to drink with the straw once the granola began getting mixed into the smoothie.
The breakfast burrito had a sprig or twig inside it (see photo). We had also waited ages for someone to bring us glasses for our water and had to eventually flag someone down. The barista seemed generally annoyed, and the whole place could use a revamp as it felt a bit dirty and not that nice a place considering their brunch/smoothie prices. They should’ve either covered the table QR codes ‘scan to order’ or mentioned that items were incorrect when...
Read moreWorst brunch I've had in a long time. To start we booked (god knows why!) only to be uncerimoniously shoved in the corner of the basement right where to food left the kitchen, making it utterly impossible to hold a conversation without being disturbed. This was (of course) despite there being numerous tables available on the main floor. Now that would have all been fine if the food was good, but as it was, the food was so disappointing that my friend and I both had to go and get a post brunch snack in order to raise our spirits. We both had the veggie breakfast, which in my opinion is quite hard to mess up considering it's made of relatively simple components. 'How could one possibly mess up avocado!?' I had orinigally thought to myself. Boy was I wrong! To use to word 'unseasoned' would be upselling this avocado - it wasn't even salted let alone seasoned. Along side this small sad pile of green tasteless mush, we were served the greasiest hash browns in existance, beans that were most definately heinz tinned beans, watery unseasoned mushrooms and bread that was so hard I was worried I'd chip a tooth. Apparently the tomatoes were nice tho... 2/10...
Read moreAh what a shame to have to leave a review like this but breakfast here was a really disappointing experience.
Firstly, service was very good - there seemed to be a new member of staff and both the new person and the other staff member working there were very friendly and kind.
The food however was really disappointing. I ordered the avocado toast which says it comes topped with radish and peashoots but neither were included. I also ordered 2 extra poached eggs but only 1 came and I was charged £6 for this.
It was awkward as, as I was being served by a new team member I didn't want to make them feel bad (and it clearly wasn't their fault) so I didn't really want to say anything but yeah really quite disappointing. Ended up paying nearly £30 for a matcha latte and avocado toast that was missing ingredients (plus being charged £6 for 1 poached egg). Real shame as it's a really nice spot and atmosphere and the staff...
