4.8 score??! NOOO, worth like 0.8!!!!!! As a Turkish meal Lover & 8-year Londoner, I comment THIS IS THE WORST TURKISH RESTAURANT, not just the WORST, also COST the MOST, RIDICULOUS. Let me explain in details.
At beginning, I was lured(what a scam) by 4.8 stars with 645 people. I particularly came for this restaurant today. The environment is bad, hot as hell inside so I sit outside, ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE. Not even any free snacks as normal Turkish restaurants do. I saw others came later inside with free olives, very bad.
After I waited almost 25-30 minutes(longer than most of Turkish restaurants), finally food came, I marked price on the picture. You can tell already much more expensive than most of authentic and nice taste good environment Turkish restaurants, MORE RIDICULOUS, VERY LITTLE PORTION!!
The main dish for £21.95 OH WHAT A DISASTER! This price you can have a very good and large portion of lamp ribs meal in other Turkish restaurants at London, while here you can tell from the picture, POOR PORTION LAMP SHISH WITH RIDICULOUSLY MICROWAVED RICE!!! I always love the taste of turkish rice but this time, fake bad rice I never tried any like this in any other turkish restaurant at all! The red one tastes even a bit RANCID. Lamp shish cubes are VERY DRY NOT JUICY AT ALL. The meat itself tastes very unfresh even already cooked. I connot even finished this small portion but they are very BAD TASTE.
Chickens wings for £8 (put other stuff on invoice as £8.95 and ask me to pay instead), tasty frankly Okay, but you can tell very unfresh meat, dry , WITH FUR ON WINGS!
Chips for £4.5 NO SALT! No salt at all! No salt served on table at all neither. Very plain like cheap product from supermarket.
£35.4 (haven’t counted service charge yet) for what you see in the picture. After all, they are so cheeky to put on 12.5% service charge (I definitely refused it) while I remember one or two other my favourite Turkish restaurants in London(not kebab shop, proper authentic Turkish restaurants who offer good food and service but not even charge service fee!)
Well, free flatbread served but I don’t even finish one piece, because it’s awfully untasteful and unfresh. Sauce are awful awful as well, obviously not from freshly made, taste like cheap supermarket stuff.
I normally don’t write bad comments, and lazy to put on so many words. But this restaurant is SOOOOO BAD at same time SO EXPENSIVE with SUCH A FAKE HIGH SCORE. I only feel like worth this money after writing down my authentic comments to warn everyone else not to come here better collapse in the end. What an awful experience here. That’s...

As a Surrey resident (Whyteleafe, Zone 6), I seldom venture into central London for dining without exceptional cause. ET House Turkish Restaurant proved unequivocally worthy of the journey.
Accompanied by our mutual friend Colin Kiely and three other friends, we experienced a masterclass in hospitality that exceeded even its formidable 4.8★ reputation.
Culinary Distinction
The menu is a curated homage to Anatolian tradition, executed with contemporary finesse. Our table’s courses showcased flawlessly spiced, succulent meats, while the Halloumi Şiş delighted our vegetarians. Portions were generous yet artfully presented… evidence of a kitchen prioritising both authenticity and aesthetic precision. The Turkish flatbread arrived fresh from the oven, a testament to their commitment to craftsmanship.
Impeccable Service
Service transcended mere efficiency; it embodied intuitive hospitality. Staff anticipated needs seamlessly… from wine pairings to accommodating dietary restrictions, without intrusion. Their knowledge of the menu was encyclopaedic, elevating the experience beyond transactional dining.
Atmosphere and Added Value
The venue balances modern elegance with warmth: ambient lighting, tasteful Turkish motifs, and acoustics that foster conversation. At £20 to £30 per head, the value proposition is compelling given Central London’s premium pricing. Each element - linens, tableware, pacing… refined the occasion.
Verdict
ET House doesn’t merely serve food; it delivers an orchestrated cultural immersion. Colin’s prior praise (Food:5, Service:5, Atmosphere:5) now resonates profoundly with our entire group. For all of us seeking culinary excellence within London’s core, this establishment is indispensable. We’ve secured our next reservation...
Read moreI keep coming back because the food is so fresh and tasty. Light afternoon humus, bread, prawns and superb chilli sauce.
Very welcoming , happy faces of lovely staff. Not intrusive but, attentive. Menu well designed with delicious, tasty, fresh, well cooked options. Lamb shish.....so succulent "hint of pink" - just as it should be. Oh, so tender, juicy, hint of BBQ on outside. Condiments wonderful, chilli just nice... complimenting but not overpowering. Onions in red juice .... Yum!!
If you can't stuff a starter (the main portion is more than sufficient) then get some of their Turkish naan bread with humus to go. The appropriate expression is "mmmmmwumpfff" and a certain amount of lip licking afterwards.
2 for one cocktails happy hour between 4 and 6. For me, the alcohol in one serve was more than enough. Each to their own.
Comfortable seating, pleasant temperature pseudo (covered) garden at the back.
I must stress that, one of the reasons I return (apart from the taste obviously) is the lady staff who make me feel welcome and valued.
Good management knows the importance of making a good first impression.....and these people are naturals. If I wasn't retired - I would steal them immediately.
Don't take my word for it....do your taste buds a favour. Takeaways are...
