Came here for a quick brunch on my own while walking my friend's dog since I was dogsitting at hers for one weekend. The place is dog-friendly and the staff at the cashier was really nice.
I got there around 11:30am and there was a queue with lots of people both sitting inside and outside although luckily I didn't have to queue long as lots of customers were only getting things to do. There were so many sweet options ranging from cake loaves to sandwiches and everything looked absolutely scrumptious. I decided to go with the pumpkin brown butter brioche bun and an oat flat white and I sat down inside since I was getting tired from carrying the dog in a puppy carrier bag.
The flat white was really smooth although I would have wanted it stronger and richer. The brioche bun was really nice and big in size. The bread was fluffy and soft with a slight hint of cinnamon and sugar but couldn't really taste much pumpkin. I can imagine it being even tastier if it was re-heated in an air fryer or oven for a few minutes. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed my quick brunch there while doing some people-watching. I would love to come back soon and try other baked goods at...
Read morehave been a regular at Finks since it opened, I think 3 years ago. I have never previously posted reviews about Finks because it's not something I usually do. If I had they would all have been v positive. Most recently, a few days ago, we had dinner there with friends. It was so lovely in every way I decided I should post the review it deserves. Warm, low key yet vibrant, nicely busy but not overly so and the food and drink were just delicious, from the gin and tonics and the house flat breads with zataar right through the various sharing plates of aubergine in a glorious tahini based dressing, greens in avocado dressing (sounds odd I know but so good and inventive), burrata with a spectacular pea and mint purée, smoked salmon pate with beetroot and seaweed sprinkles and the best toasts, and then there was sumptuous lamb, all accompanied by a delicious Rioja new to the menu. We had more than enough to eat and it came out at 25 quid each including alcohol (not including service). Finks really is a happy, special place. I just read the other reviews on line, no surprise to see they are...
Read moreA relaxed and informal café in the backstreets of Finsbury Park that injects a bit of culture in to the local area. Slow, hipster tunes set a nice lazy atmosphere and recycled MDF decorating (from the walls to the tables) gives off a "do what you want (within reason)" vibe.
The food, having ordered Cinnamon Apple Toast, was really good. The compote and sour cream that came with the bread was a lovely addition, though the compote was super sweet so I couldn't have too much. The Challah bread it was served on was a tad dry but that's the nature of the bread I believe. I was told the Sourdough Salmon sandwich was lovely as well.
They offer a wide variety of drinks, from coffee's, to teas, to ciders, and beers. The fact they serve Affogato is a huge plus in my books as well! They also sell various bits like cheese, wines and champagnes, oils, and spreads which is nice.
I think I'll definitely will be back; the Appled Pork Pretzel Roll sounds too...
