My wife and I chose this restaurant to organise our wedding reception because of various reasons.
First, it is situated in St John’s Wood - a quiet, green and beautiful affluent neighborhood in North West London.
Second, the menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters, main courses and desserts. As a starter, everyone had a mix of different mezzes such as Hummus, Tabouleh, Cacik, Shakshuka and Babaganoush. As a main, I had the Centik Special - a traditional Ottoman dish that consisted of grilled cubes of lamb, chicken and kofte placed on a nest of matchstick cut potatoes, topped with yoghurt sauce & a hint of garlic. It was garnished with grilled tomatoes and peppers. My wife tried the Lamb Tagine - lamb cooked with carrots, celery, onions, green olives, dried fruit and nuts & fresh herbs served with rice. They were all exquisite. As a dessert, I had the Apricots filled with cream and almond & pistachio. My wife had the Ottoman Kadayif - shredded pastry with cream filling, pistachio and syrup. They were both absolutely delicious! In terms of drinks, everyone had their own choices but the freshly squeezed lemonade and orange juice were loved by everyone.
Last but not least, the service was of very high quality. The owner was very warm and thoughtful when jointly planning the day ahead of time. During the day itself, he came around a few times to check on our experience and seemed to be authentically engaged. As for the waiters, they were very engaged and interested in their jobs.
This day itself was very magical to both my wife and myself, and having this fantastic experience at this specific restaurant reinforced everything. Thus, I highly recommend this restaurant. The location is great, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere...
Read moreOverall experience not pleasant at all , starting with a stale bread which upon complaining was taken aback to comeback warmed up but tasted stale again , only to be returned by us and then being served pita bread which was slightly better . The dips were bland , I’ve eaten better humus purchased in supermarkets. We’ve ordered sea bas only to be told that there’s only one left so we had to change the food order . People on the next table had young children walking around with the phone talking , touching other tables cutlery and glasses , bumping into our backs with no disregard while we were eating . The food was bland , I’ve had better tasting meat in many many other Turkish cuisine places including fast food . I’m really finding it hard to say anything nice . Oh and please get rid of plastic flowers decor on the outside it’s so tacky , surely you can afford some fresh greenery . It was a very disappointing experience and to think that it’s in the area of St.Johns Wood it’s...
Read moreHad lunch there with my brother and friend a couple weeks ago. None of us had had anything to eat all day. My food was fine, brother's friend's steak was undercooked. Brother who ordered the fish pot got serious food poisoning two hours later. Hospitalisation level food poisoning. When I called the restaurant to tell them to just check their fish going out (not even to accuse them - because what's done is done - but just to tell them to check) they said it was impossible that their standards were perfect. It couldn't be them. I told them that everyone can make a mistake and it wasn't really likely that he could have gotten it anywhere else, that was the only place he'd eaten all day. I was again told that it was impossible that that such a thing had never happened before.
Please look below.. you will find that ours was not the only case. Usually decent food by Fora but appallingly conceited and dangerously myopic management....
