With reply to the above reply from the owner of the ST JOHNS BOUTIQUE HOTEL.WOW what a professional reply no wonder you are no longer in business . I booked with your hotel after seeing it on 4 in a Bed and thought what a lovely little place, my partners 50 Th birthday is in February so we decided to book a four night stay here which meant we were returning to SCOTLAND on a Sunday, I booked this in August with a very pleasant member of your staff named Liz who quoted me a price and asked for a deposit of £152.25 which I duly paid by MasterCard (so I do have records).Anyway long story short I was booking trains for our travel at the beginning of December and was having difficulty getting a return train on the Sunday so we decided hopefully Liz would be able to accommodate us for an extra evening, I called the number for the hotel and there was no reply, Liz had also gave me her mobile number so I also called that no reply, five minutes later the call was returned by someone, when I asked if it was Liz they replied that Liz no longer worked there, I enquired about the extra nights stay to which they replied we cannot do that as we are closing for good in five days as the owner wants the property back, I stated I had a booking for February and had paid a substantial deposit towards our stay what was I to do . She replied someone would be in touch and ended the call. After thinking about what had just happened I called back and got no reply, I have tried calling several times and sent several emails all ignored, the phone now appears to be disconnected, I also phoned the restaurant below the hotel (which is now closed down) and spoke to a nice gentleman who said he would try and contact someone to get in touch. Again no response. So I booked this hotel in august left a deposit and if it hadn’t been for me not being able to get a train on the Sunday we would have arrived at the ST JOHNS BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN FEBRUARY FOR MY PARTNERS 50 th BIRTHDAY WITH NO WHERE TO STAY.SO if the professional Tenant or ex tenant-would care to answer phones or emails or even better call his customers with the sad news that they could not accommodate our booking as there business had FAILED, there would have been no need to write this review to get a response, so if you would care to check your records and return the £152.25 that I paid you on 24/08/2021 by MasterCard. That would be appreciated. Also my Head is not up my a@@e, I am just astounded that you took the decision to close your business and took the decision not to inform future bookings of your actions to do so ,to enable them to find alternative accommodation.you have my details so I would appreciate you getting in contact to apologise for your unprofessional conduct and to refund my deposit of £152.25, Regards Ian...
Read moreWe stayed in Abbey suite. The room is small and pleasant and clean. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were so soft that when lay on they shrank down to nothing. Therefore, we had two nights with broken uncomfortable sleep. |The bathroom is modern and clean and has a shower. We prefer a shower so this was fine. The temperature of the shower was fixed at one temperature which was scalding hot. My hubby is a plumber and he remarked at how it could not be reduced to a more tolerable temperature. I like a hot shower but this was scalding and therefore could merely flick water over yourself for a rudimentary clean. The hotel is located above a pub which was a key factor for us as we loved this convenience. We were extremely disappointed to discover that the pub is shut. No note on why or when will reopen on the exterior of the premises and certainly not made aware of when booked. We were left a 10% off food and drinks voucher in our roof as part of the welcome letter but obviously this cannot be used in a closed business. Very disappointed. It’s well situated in at John’s wood and a pleasant walking distance from the tube station of the same name. Lots of nice bars and restaurants in the vicinity which we took advantage of. Unfortunately the week we chose was the underground strikes so it affected the overall experience of the weekend but that can’t be helped. We had a great time overall but the accommodation was a...
Read moreJust stayed again in this gorgeous hotel and it was just as good if not better than last time. Kylie made us so welcome and we had a beautiful suite. This was a 3 day, 2 night working trip and after a hard day it was lovely to come back to a hot bath and luxurious surroundings. I have never slept as well as in the comfiest of comfy beds and it was enormous. The suite had every amenity you could want and it’s so handy having the restaurant next door. Lovely also having a bottle of milk instead of those horrible sachets! |Thank you so much Kylie we will be back in the new year. Would definitely recommend this lovely small hotel and restaurant (with amazing food and reasonably priced with great service) to anyone wanting to stay in St....
