AVOID...would never use this company again. Feel conned by wrong info on website and intend reporting to Trading Standards. On the website, Forman & Field claim their Panettone & Butter pudding âserves 6-8.â But after purchasing it (N7930), opened the packaging to find a much smaller than expected pudding with âserves 2-4â printed on it. Tweeted the owner Lance Forman and the company about it with no reply (although both were quick to RT a positive tweet of mine about assistance by an employee when ordering). An email to customer service also did not get a reply. This coming from Lance Forman who writes âyour total satisfaction is of prime importance to usâ on a printed âthank youâ note which comes with goods bought. I wished I had followed the tweeted advice from esteemed restaurant critic Andy Hayler who wrote the smoked salmon from Goldsteinâs was âmuch betterâ than Formanâs. I also bought mojito salmon from Formanâs...inedible with a nasty chemical, industrial-like taste. Incidentally, the reheating instructions for the Panettone & Butter pudding also differ wildly from website to packaging. I initially thought it was just a mistake over size but after their silence and non-response I suspect it a deliberate ploy to mislead customers and line Mr Formanâs pockets. Unfortunately, I feel aggrieved that I have been misled by your website after purchasing the âPanettone & Butter Puddingâ (N7930).

This is clearly false.
On the packaging for the pudding - much smaller than I imagined because of the wrong info - it states âserves 2-4â (pix attached).
Because of this wrong information I had to buy a supplementary pudding for my wifeâs birthday party.
I alerted Lance Forman and Forman & Field yesterday to this via twitter without reply or apology.
Also the reheating instructions are very different from website to package. Again I asked which I should follow to Lance and F&F and didnât get a reply.

   Read moreFor many years Forman and Field has been my "go to" supplier not only for fresh ingredients but also prepared food. This is well priced considering the high standard of ingredients and the skill of the cooks - never too bland or at the other extreme heavily with chilies.
Each Christmas fish based items make a welcome change in between goose and meat - pleasant to to have items such as lobster thermidor that are very time consuming to make and this year the lobster topped fish pie was definitely the best fish pie on the market.
As a bonus the customer service is outstanding - Christmas 2015 food was not delivered on the expected date - next morning found a package of melting food outside the porch with no note giving attempted date of delivery. This could well have been the end of buying from the firm but the response to my complaint was a master class in soothing an irate customer - not just a sincere , rather than off hand, apology but details of how the problem would be tackled to ensure that it never occurred again.
I will be looking forward to the arrival of the 2017 Christmas catalogue and meanwhile nice to know that in a emergency something like beef Wellington is only a...
   Read moreI made my order in Oct 2020 for delivery on 23 Dec 2020. A few days before delivery I received an email explaining, among other things, that if anything was wrong with the order when it arrived, to email straight away, and mark it was urgent. The delivery arrived in time, but instead of fillet steaks, I received burgers ! I emailed as instructed and heard nothing. I telephoned the next day, and was advised that there was nothing that could be done as too late, a few other customers had a similar experience, but the burgers were very good and I should eat them. Not quite the Christmas lunch we had in mind ! I was asked to send a copy of the delivery note, with an email, which I duly did. I received a response which did offer an apology, and said as they were busy, could I leave it a couple of weeks and contact them again. Not the level of service I would expect. Very disappointed, with the approach. As I live reasonably close to Stratford , I could have collected the steaks, had this been offered as a compromise.
