My first ever visit to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford E20, Friday 27/5/22 was a most enjoyable and interesting venture. A GREAT DAY EXPERIENCED! I made my way here via public transport from South - East London using TFL services into Stratford rail terminal. The journey in quick time - most reliable.👍 I obtained some very useful information at the Information Point, Endeavour Square, via beforehand a 10minute walk along Westfield Avenue from Stratford Station to reach.Thankfully, I collected the vital and useful information from the Information Point, and then ventured around the park in a steady five hours stay 10.00am to 1500pm in the most perfect weather conditions in May. I was totally impressed on the whole visit and so glad to visit this futuristic London park and sporting East London attraction. Ten years ago (2012) the world's Olympics took place in the LONDON STADIUM 🏟. The stadium has since, post World Olympics 2012, been the home ground of West Ham United F.C, a move the club made from their original stadium at 'The Boleyn ground' Upton Park, E6. Ten years on in 2022, endless building development, office buildings, retail outlets, and residential apartments of all modern architecture, continue rising and dominating the skyline around the E20 area. Today a different world and scene from the heavy traditional industries of the past have virtually all but now gone. However, relics and features remain with its four waterways, lock gates, and wharves as heritage and tourist attraction. Changing times in the world are evident here in this corner of London. I did a circular walk 'stroll around the Q.E. Olympic Park starting at the Information Point, Endeavour Square / Stratford Walks and along the wide walkways towards the stadium. Then I walked a circuit around the stadium 🏟 engaging via the Fountains Splash area, climbing wall (2012 gardens), Champions Place, the Olympic Bell, Carpenters Road lock, Great British Gardens and River Lea, the London Marathon Community track via a viewpoint look from Marshgate Lane. Finally ending at the Arcelor Mittal Orbit in Thornton Street. My route also negotiated the bridge from Endeavour Square/ Stratford Walks and ending and exiting out of the Park near to the London Aquatics Centre / 'the Podium' at Thornton Bridge. Additional viewing gained en route of the Waterworks River, City Mill River, River Lea, that all flow through the park.My final exit route via the flyover Montfichet Road, then homeward bound from Stratford terminal. Toilets and refreshments are at the Arcelor Mittal Orbit booking office by 'THE LAWN'. boat tours by the east bank in the Waterworks River by the East Bank. My praise goes to the efforts that have created this place and to the public events forever ongoing here at this relatively new London tourist attraction. When London puts a show on and showcase its efforts whether in art, music, sport, any other social event, even the debatable architecture on display - then Stratford E20 deservedly for my reckoning should be on the map as part of a London stage from a international tourist perspective. Rating on the whole of this 'INNOVATIVE' complex, A1, 10/10. Chris.

Queen Elizabeth Park is one of my 11 year old daughter favourite place to visit when in East London to visit friends or go shopping in Westfield. We take the Met Line from Buckinghamshire then cross at Finchley for the Victoria straight into Stratford Sation to get to the park. London has done a good job maintaining it. It has lovely areas to sit and have a coffee and a chat. For smaller kids there are sand play and places to climb and exert energy whilst you sit. We enjoy walking along the tree lined paths and along the canal. Check for events put on for sports lovers and familes throughout the year at the park. I am green fingered so enjoy nature there. They have done a good job with planting using drought resistant flowers and plants which are pleasant to see all year round. People are always about and a good amount of seating are dotted about the park along the canal. Not there are isolated areas and cut throughs directly away from the stadium itself not yet developed. Presently there are development works being carried out building the new East Side along the canal which will house the V&A. I was told it will primarily about photography. Stratford has changed alot with new high rise buildings springing up. Its good that the Queen Elizabeth Park offer respite for the neighbouring community.
