Gallego's Piri Piri & Pizza, Sutton — Restaurant in London

Service: 1 Star: I placed 3 orders by going in shop specifically saying I will be back in 10/15 minutes and to please keep the order ready. (Basic order made; chips chicken & a burger) Paid and went. Came back to get my order, around 15 mins later, and I waited to be assisted. Had to get attention as no one was attentive with their backs to counter. Then the 2 staff saw me and spoke amongst themselves. I got told to wait a few minutes and I asked why, they said they need to make the chips and the order will be ready. I asked why is that when I gave plenty of time and already paid. One of the staff said that they gave the batch of chips to customers that came after me. And then changed the story to wanted to give me hot chips. (I said the chips was for my 4 year old hence I specifically always order and then take food)

Food: 1 Star: Greasy wings and extremely salty. Burger had ketchup instead of burger sauce which seemed odd tasting. As this was not a request.

When I recently moved to Sutton I didn't have all my cooking things the first night so I came here for takeout - the food was delicious and portion size was excellent value for money. My partner moved in shortly after I did & one night got takeout from somewhere else, he was a little disappointed. I told him he should have gone here & the next time we wanted a takeout treat we came here & he loved it as much as I said he would. There's just my partner and myself so we wouldn't be able to eat a family meal between us but the family deals are extremely reasonably priced compared to other places. Haven’t been in but have ordered a few times. Really delicious. Piri piri is nice and spicy, chips are hot and tasty, it always comes quickly and is reasonably priced. I’ve been thanking the procrastinator in me for scrolling passed my usuals to find this uncut gem.

My only suggestion is that if they improved the bread on the piri piri sizzler it could be an all timer burger. At the moment it’s good,but, with a wider and more robust, perhaps made in house, type of bread it could dominate the local piri piri market and perhaps go national. Anyway, bygones be bygones. Delicious meal all round and will be ordering again, although until the bread is updated on the sizz, I’ll be sticking to the piri...
