Long story short: not worth the wait.
My family of 4 visited Gazab this evening, we made our reservation through theFork for 7pm. We arrived promptly and was looked after really well by our server - we placed our order ten minutes later. We asked for the starters and mains to be served together as we were hungry. Fast forward half an hour, we alerted the server the food had already taken a while, so if the starters were ready, we'd be happy to have them. She came back and apologised saying the kitchen was overwhelmed by the quick influx of orders, but that our food would be out shortly- there were only 5 occupied tables including us, two of which already had their food. It took 1hr5mins for all the food to make it to the table, and somehow the starters were still cold. A paneer tikka that isn't sizzling hot (or at least charred) shouldn't be called a tikka dish! The mushroom flowers looked, and tasted, like they'd been sat on a counter for ten minutes. You can imagine my frustration.
We ordered a lamb shank roganjosh, malai kofta and butter chicken. The lamb shank was beautifully tender, but the flavour lacked depth for a £20 dish - again, the staff made excuses on the kitchens behalf saying they throw everything together last minute, so it's rustic because it's "extra fresh". The butter chicken was nothing like any butter chicken I've ever tried, it was sweet and was missing the iconic butter chicken taste, but at least the chicken was soft and abundant. The malai kofta was unbearably sweet despite us asking for it to be on the hotter side; considering we had to wait an hour, the food was seriously underwhelming. We would've definitely had more of a bone to pick had the bill not already been 50% off, we were glad to be over with it. All in all, the ambience and the floor staff were fantastic, I just really wish the food tasted as good...

We visited Gazzab for the first time last night, and it was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in, we loved the stylish yet welcoming décor—there’s a great balance between being relaxed and feeling like a special night out.
The food was incredible. We started with a mix of poppadoms, which were fresh and crisp, and they also brought out a complimentary potato fritter—a lovely surprise and a great start to the meal. For starters, we had the stuffed aubergine, which was packed with flavour and beautifully prepared.
For mains, we had the Goan prawn curry and the lamb shank rogan josh, both of which were exceptional. The portions were generous, and the spice blends were spot-on—rich, well-balanced, and deeply flavourful. The pilau rice and garlic naan were fresh and delicious, making the perfect accompaniments.
Dessert was a bit of a surprise—when they brought out the black carrot halwa with ice cream, there were two portions instead of one! We weren’t sure if it was a mistake or a generous gesture, but when we mentioned it, they told us the second was on the house. It was a really nice touch, and the halwa itself was fantastic—comforting, rich, and not overly sweet.
On top of all that, the service was just brilliant. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome.
Overall, Gazzab is a real gem and a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all top-notch. We’ll definitely be going back, and we highly...
