Gelateria Danieli — Restaurant in London

I visited this ice cream store today in Richmond as I have on a few other occasions when I am visiting my family. Unfortunately today I felt very uncomfortable as after I ordered a scoop of chocolate and was about to pay one of the servers squealed at her colleague to take out something that was in the chocolate ice cream display. They made a big show of removing something that was in the main chocolate ice cream display with plastic spoon and put it in the sink and they both made it obvious it was something unpleasant. All whilst I was waiting to pay for my ice cream that has come from the same container. When I then asked what was going on and what they removed one of them said it was a hair and the other said it was a drain fly that she says ‘always dive into the icecream’ Obviously judging by their laughing and their reactions they were not telling the truth and they treated me like some sort of idiot by then saying they didn’t know if it was a hair or a fly. I won’t be returning and I don’t like being treated like an idiot. They shouldn’t have made a show of removing something from the icecream in front of me nor should they have spoken to me like I was born yesterday. Not professional and I won’t be recommending this place...

l'd like to share a very special review for an extraordinary company. A couple of weeks ago, my grandmother, Sheila, was admitted to the hospital due to terminal cancer. By chance, she ended up in the same ward as the wonderful Bridget, one of the owners of Gelateria Danieli.

During their time together, Bridget brought much-needed laughter, support, and care to all the ladies in the ward. She truly was a ray of sunshine and a real angel on earth. Beyond her kindness, Bridget took the time to learn what chocolates my grandmother enjoyed and what she didn't. As a beautiful gesture, she sent us a box of chocolates, free of charge, to our home.

The chocolates were delicious, but the thought and care behind them made them even sweeter. We will always remember Bridget's kindness and the warmth she brought to my grandmother and our family.

Sometimes in life you have to RAVE about a business. I have been shopping at Gelateria Danieli and chocolates for years now and sometimes we forget to give credit where credit is due. I find it hard to go anywhere else to buy presants for others - as well as myself and my family. Not only is the quality of their chocolate and icecream SUPERB, I particularly want to commend Jo in the chocolate shop. She has been there for years and goes above and beyond every single time I go in there. I know how hard the owners have worked over the years to survive as a small business and I would always encourage people to go there to support them. They deserve it so much and I promise you their products are amazing. Personally I never understood what good chocolate and ice cream tasted like before I went there. It is a little bit of heaven. Thank you and bring on Christmas when I shall be buying all my presants from there. ...
