We arrived at this hotel before 12 and we were offered by a very friendly staff member an early check-in for additional £10 which sounded very reasonable. Rooms at this hotel are tiny. In the room there is enough space for the comfy bed, bedside tables, desk, coffee and tea station, mirror and mini open wardrobe. But for £36 that we paid for this room we were very happy with it. Although the room was tiny, everything was clean, fresh and well presented (clean carpets and only few scuffs and marks on the walls). Bathroom was good size but I would like to have proper shower door rather than shower curtain (I just hate shower curtains). I also didn't like the smell of the hand wash foam and shower gel, but you can always bring your own as I did. There is no point ordering the breakfast from the reception (they don't have restaurant at this hotel), just go outside and get breakfast from one of the nearby cafes. If you need to use an iron or hairdryer you need to request it from the reception. Slightly annoying but for £36 a night it wasn't a problem. Although planes are flying above the hotel every couple of minutes you can't really hear them, which means that you can have uninterrupted, good nigh sleep. Also if you want to access WiFi for longer than free 30 minutes you need to pay for it. We enjoyed our visiting to Richmond and Travelodge hotel and I can highly recommend it to everyone looking for low price accommodation. I would definitely come back...
Read moreI understand that travelodge offer basic amenities for the price they offer but surely normal water drinking glasses and a bath/shower matt falls under basic amenities. The staff were friendly but they didn't seem to know much about anything. The parking options were non existent. Considering that you are paying to be residing in the area there should be some reasonable parking options, especially since this establishment is situated right next to a large undercover town parking lot. We'd have happily paid a specially arranged travelodge parking fee for our time there, but there were no such options. For the days we weren't travelling around the local countryside the parking options were little to non and for us to have parked inside the town parking lot overnight for 6 nights we'd have paid an astronomical amount which would have defeated the purpose of booking at travelodge entirely. Breakfast option was poor as there was only 1 option. Also the free 30 min Wi-Fi didn't work. I managed to log on once to receive my free daily 30 min Wi-Fi, then everyday after that when I tried to log in, it would notify my that I'd already used my free daily allowance, even after totally disabling the WiFi travelodge network so that it wouldn't automatically log me in, it still didn't work. We won't be coming again...
Read moreThe receptionist are rarely present and can be seen leaving it unattended for over 40 minutes or close to an hour at times which is unacceptable specially if you are locked out of your room or you check in at a later time during the night.||||I experienced significant challenges with the customer service during my stay at Travelodge Richmond, which I would like to bring to your attention. Upon my arrival for check-in, I was left waiting outside for over 25 minutes before the receptionist arrived to unlock the door, despite repeated attempts to signal my presence. This issue with the absence of reception staff recurred during my stay; on two separate occasions, I accidentally locked my key in my room and had to wait excessively long periods - over 30 minutes the first time and more than 20 minutes the second - for assistance.|||| Although my booking included Wi-Fi access, I was only able to connect on my laptop, and not my phone. When attempting to access the Wi-Fi on my phone, I was prompted by the to pay an additional fee, contrary to the terms of my booking which clearly included...
