We did a round-trip from Richmond to Hampton Court on board the Princess Freda punctual, polite and helpful staff and a genuinely amusing and informative comentary on the way upstream. The journey lasted about 1 hr 25 mins including the passage through Teddington Lock. There was a heavy stream which slowed the outward journey to Hampton Court but the return with the stream behind us lasted about an hour. Older passengers with walking aids might need help on the narrow steps up to the rear deck and down to the saloon, but handrails and help available if needed. If you wanted to combine a trip on the Thames with a visit to Hampton Court, the 11.15 morning sailing from Richmond and 16.00 return from Hampton Court would allow about 3 to 3.5 hours to explore Hampton Court Palace. This was an Easter Weekend sailing so the summer timetable may be different. As it was a high tide the boat had to temporarily remove anything that would prevent us going under Hammersmith bridge. It was great to see everything from the perspective of the river, quite remarkable how much ugly development has happened in the Battersea/Chelsea stretches of the river.
