I recently revisited German Doner Kebab after quite some time, and Iâm thrilled to say that itâs still as impressive as I remember. From the moment I walked in, I noticed how clean and well-maintained the place was. The modern dĂ©cor and inviting atmosphere made it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. One standout feature is the glass wall showcasing the kitchen, which gives you a clear view of how clean and organised everything isâthis transparency really adds to the overall dining experience.
The food, of course, was the highlight. My doner kebab was absolutely on point, bursting with flavour, and perfectly cooked. The combination of tender meat, fresh ingredients, and delicious sauces was simply spot on. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food, and itâs clear why theyâve earned such a strong reputation.
I also want to give a special mention to the service. The staff, particularly the young lady who served me, was friendly, efficient, and attentive. She ensured that everything was to my liking and provided great recommendations. Itâs always nice to feel well taken care of when dining out, and this visit was no exception.
Overall, my experience at German Doner Kebab was fantastic, and itâs safe to say Iâll be coming back again soon. Whether youâre a regular or revisiting after some time like me, I highly recommend giving them a try. You wonât be...
Read moreOrdered via Uber Eats, a very simple order. One doner mix box and fries. Such a simple order, and they still managed to get it wrong.
Received the box and one random cheese sauce, none of the other regular sauces. Bearing in mind I hate their cheese sauce, so I had to just have a dry kebab. Not to mention no napkins, cutlery or anything else in the box. So all in all I paid ÂŁ11 for a dry kebab, a kebab without the sauces is not one to be desired.
After calling to check up on them, I asked them a simple question. "Do you have garlic, yoghurt and chilli dips sitting there?" He answered "yes we do." My response was "so why couldn't you put them in my order then". This just shows the staff cannot perform basic tasks like preparing a extremely simple order, as they have sauces prepacked and in stock, its not like they were out of stock.
This place used to be good few months ago, now the prices have gone up and the staff don't seem to get anything right. When you do go in there in person as well, the staff are pretty young and seem very unprofessional. The young staff treat it like some sort of social club, and always seem to have all their buddies around, too busy to take orders and instead treating it like a social club. The manager here needs to get his act together, as he's clearly...
Read morePersonally I love German Doner Kebab (GDK). I'm not really a big doner kebab enthusiast as I'm not a fan of lamb and I often find kebabs too greasy for my liking. GDK doner kebabs on the other hand are a choice of chicken or beef, beef being the better option in my opinion.
The portions are generous with plenty of meat, the salad is fresh and the bread they use is very good. I would steer clear of the other menu items beyond the original doner kebab they serve as I don't think they improve on the original. I also think that if you want chicken, there are other places to go.
The original beef is a 9/10 doner kebab though. It's not too greasy, it's got ample flavour and it's a solid meal on its own. Beware the large, the large is definitely very large.
I personally am not a huge fan of the sauces except the slightly spicy red sauce, this has a little heat, a little sweetness and pairs perfectly with the kebab meat.
I wouldn't go here for a meal out, but as a quick, delicious alternative to the usual fast food...
