We stumbled across Gravity Well Taproom while having dinner at a nearby restaurant that was BYOB, and I am so glad we did. It turns out they can their beers, which was a perfect surprise because it meant we could grab some to take with us.
I asked about one of the smoothie beers on the menu and the friendly bar staff immediately offered me a little taste to try. It was called Inner Space Smoothie with banana, peach, and plum, and honestly it was my first time ever coming across anything like that. I decided to go for it and ended up really enjoying it. It is a lot more filling than a regular beer though, so I would definitely recommend starting with a small portion if you are sitting in.
The vibe inside is laid back and welcoming, exactly what you want from a local taproom. I left feeling genuinely excited to come back and explore the rest of their brews, because if they are anything like the smoothie beer, they are bound to be unique and memorable.
Definitely worth checking out if you are in Leyton and want something a...
Read moreThe brewery, the service and most of all, the beer it's self is absolutely fantastic, one of my favourites and has been for years.
The location is also good, being seconds away from the station and bus stops.
Only issue is, more indoor space needed which I reckon they're working on.
Also please let meat eaters, eat meat at your taproom, just having vegan only is a bit unfair, if it were the other way round the vegans would call discrimination. Why not accept everyone, I see the partnership with the smokehouse nearby but it seems a one way street, they let people bring your beer into their place but you don't let their food into your taproom :( such a shame
Except for that top stuff. But never stay too long as I want to go elsewhere to eat, example - (sorry) howling hops X Kottu House, who cater for vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters alike.
Fix that, accept all, and your odd notice about keeping stinky meat food out (maybe I misread) then you're honestly...
Read moreGravity Well make very very good hazy IPAs, and this is a great space to showcase their beers. There's 10 keg lines, and offered 8 of their own beers and 2 guests when we visited, offering a good variety of styles. There's also a fridge with further beer options, including an AF beer (although they only had 1 can left which was propmptly sold), with wine and pre made cocktails also available for non-beer drinkers
Conveniently located directly under Leyton Midland Road station, and only 1 stop away from Blackhorse Road on the Suffragette line (where several other great tap rooms can be found). Really good use of the space with seating outside and inside (there's a few seats above the bar which I suspect they use during...
