I went in with family and a pushchair in the evening and the place was empty. The decor is very pink with several booth areas on the sides, some small round tables and chairs in the middle, and a large sofa area near the back. Lighting is quite dim especially near the back, so when I took photos, colouring looks a bit washed out and not as vivid as it would have been in better lighting. But luckily, the flavour wasn't insipid! We were not sure where to sit, but the manager said we could sit in the sofa area, which was great! Nice comfortable leather couches. Ordered some desserts, which this place solely sells, and they were lush! We had a classic banana split, a cookie dough plate with 2 scoops ice-cream, 1 cocoa magic sundae, 1 brownie point sundae, and 2 kids sundaes. The kids managed to finish almost all their portions of ice-cream (they'd just had a dinner so were quite full), the cookie dough was hot and fresh from the oven and presented well, and the sundaes and banana split looked mouthwateringly good and tasted good too! We took our time eating the desserts but we didn't feel rushed by any staff members, and it was a lovely experience overall. Would definitely go again!

Bought a milkshake tonight. They gave me some filmbsy straw. When you pull the milkshake makes the straw close before it gets into your mouth. So I asked for a different straw something a bit harder for the milkshake. So the guy have me two same straws. Honestly I wanted to drink my shake whilst I drive home. Instead I couldn't drink it which defeated the objective and was forced to eat it with a spoon at home by which time my entire milkshake melted. Honestly the other Afters on Green Street isn't like this. They have proper quality straws. Clearly the leyton branch is cutting costs at the customers expense of enjoying their dessert. Won't be visiting this place again.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO COME HERE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! SMALL DRINKS SERVED IN PLASTIC CUPS! This smoothie is very small and more like water down cheap hi juice, the sorbet Sensation is lacking sorbet it's some sort of ice cream mixed with fruit I would highly recommend not to come here!!! I wish I read the other reviews on here before going there. So any chance of a refund compensation?

What a disaster!

Where do I start? After a very average meal at Bison's, wanted a a bit of dessert. Only place we could think of round that area was Afters. Not a big fan of Afters but there wasn't anything else available.

On the menu it says a they have a selection of cakes, so I ordered a pistachio cake and a peanut butter milkshake. The waiter repeated back he has every other cake on the menu but the pistachio, so I settled for a black forest gateau.

Cake was decent but I don't have a picture of it, as I thought presentation of the cake was diabolical and not worth taking a picture.

The icing on the cake was when my milkshake was brought over. Peanut butter milkshakes is one of my favourite shakes. I took one look at it and thought what in god's name is this? Never have I ever seen a milkshake that colour. Gave it the benefit of the doubt, and tried it. It was so thick that I couldn't drink throw a straw. Now I think back I didn't hear the blender once, normally a milkshake you blitz it in a blender.

There was four members of staff working there surely one them knows how to make a milkshake? I'm by looking at my milkshake they put a tub of peanut butter half a scoop of ice cream and probably no milk whatsoever.

I just left it on the table, wasn't at all interested in making a complaint as gentleman who took our order in the beginning struggled with his lack of English.

I've had peanut butter milkshakes in other dessert parlours, as well as other branches of Afters many a times. To this day I have never known it to come in that colour. Milkshakes normally come out white.

Few of the Afters branches have gone into decline recently. Store managers and owners really need to look into what staff are serving and basic customer service...

Rude rude rude horrible manager. Big problem with babies crying. We are regular customers been coming for several years. It's always empty. Just our family is always here. But today was the worst thing that ever happened. The unprofessional rude moody manager said to my daughter who is only 1 years old!!! That she is crying too much and customers are getting disturbed. No customers were even there!! He said we don't like the noise. This rubbish manager should open up a night club for over 18 years instead of a dessert shop as he has a big PROBLEM with babies/kids. We are so disgusted. And shocked. My sister explained to him that you should have a notice that babies are not allowed. As how can you expect us to make a 1 year old quiet? It's not on purpose!! This weirdo manager needs to be spoken to by the owner honestly!!! He has put Afters reputation down! And don't you tell us this is a fake review. As we have family kids etc who have witnessed today's incident. Our other children have been left very disturbed by all of this. And are so upset. He didn't even apologise. Stuck up and arrogant person. We would strongly advise anyone with kids NOT to go there. As your next to be humiliated. No wonder this Afters branch is always empty. Now this horrible manager has lost us as customers too!!! We are getting in touch with the owners to make a...

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST!!

Drove here from quite a distance with two friends visiting me from out of London after checking there was enough time before they close.

Arrived an hour and twenty minutes before closing time only to be told that they could only do takeaway. When we said that we wouldn't like takeaway so would not like to order anything the 'server' behind the counter, (a young man with a beard) immediately changed his mind and said 'ok you can dine in but we will have to serve your order in takeaway containers.'

We were asked to sit down and told they would come over to take our orders. We had to get up and collect menus as there were none at the table.

After waiting almost 15 minutes noone had been over to take our order. We decided to go up to the counter ourselves. Waited another 5 minutes at the counter while the server seemed too busy talking on a mobile phone.

When he finally finished the phone conversation and came over, he acted like we were a causing major inconvenience. Couldn't speak to us coherently, and only managed to say something like, ''online order......can you speak up". I asked what he meant, to which he replied, 'can I take this phone call?' point to his mobile.

We immediately left and will never return. I cannot believe that it is possible to experience such terrible...
