Me and a group of family and friends went to dine there as we heard good things about this restaurant. However, we were very disappointed. I have seen the reviews and they don't seem to respond to ANY of the reviews. Even so, here is our experience: First of all we ordered our drinks and asked for water as well..it took a while for our drinks to arrive, water was forgotten. After a while, we got our starters and we asked for water again, none arrived. When we were almost finished with the starters we had to ask for water again and we told them we have already asked for water twice already only then did we get out water. There were only one set of cutlery for each person, they took it away all the dirty ones and none was replaced for our mains. Our mains took almost 45mins to arrive. They had a few western guests, who were served starters when we were finishing ours. By the time our mains arrived, the westerners had their mains and were already ready to leave. We had to ask twice as well what was happening to our mains. When it finally did arrive, our rice was cold as well as most of our other food was cold. When we complained that our food was cold and that they still haven't given us cutlery to eat with, they started behaving rudely to us. We only wanted what we had paid for, proper hot food and clean cutlery to eat with. And the rice portion was very small as well, only a few spoonful so we had to ask for more rice. We waited for the rice to come it took so long that the remainder of our food that gone stone cold and finally when the rice arrived, it was also cold and only slight warm in the middle. Very disappointed. They charged us for the extra rice, other restaurants we've been to will give free top up of rice or the lentil soup and they have always let us know whether it was free or not. The staff didn't bother to inform us at all that this restaurant will charge when we asked for it. We asked to see the manager, the staff initially refused. The staff was rude, the man who called himself the manager refused to give his name and was rude to us and shouted at us in front of other guests. All we wanted was proper food and proper utensils and to let him know that we weren't served water even after asking for it so many times. We feel that the staff felt it was ok to look down on us and hummiliate us because we were from their community rather than the western people so asking for water or clean cutlery or a hotter (temperature-wise) food or a bit more rice was too greedy of us and thus treated us that way. We went in looking forward to great food and great service, only to be treated like we weren't worth being their paying customers. And also, one of the item was missing from the set we ordered, and they tried to hide it by putting aloo dum instead. Please review your menu and serve the correct items displayed in your menu..! 2 stars, for at least trying. Staff could do with more training, Food could be better, and please serve water! and please serve what is promised on the menu, if you can't then let us know when we order it or come back to us and let us know instead of just randomly adding another item in the thali set.
We won't be going back again. And we will be telling our friends and family our experience and ask them to avoid this restaurant in future.

Read moreOur recent visit to Gurkha Durbar, accompanied by my family, was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in Feltham Station, this charming Nepalese restaurant offers a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality, thanks to the exemplary service provided by Sandip. His welcoming demeanor and attentive approach towards my parents, husband and my daughter immediately made us feel at home, setting the tone for a memorable evening ahead.
Highlights of our meal included and the true star of the evening was Sausage, Pork Steam Momo, Chicken Jhol Momo, Chowmein, Chicken Lolipop, Bhutan, Chicken Chyolea, bursting with flavor and tenderly cooked to perfection, rich, aromatic, and utterly satisfying where reasonable prices meet Generous Portions.
Throughout the evening, Sandip ensured that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection, seamlessly attending to every need and going above and beyond to ensure my utmost satisfaction. His genuine warmth and professionalism are a true asset to Gurkha Durbar, elevating the dining experience to new heights. He is the most dedicating staff ever I've seen. The way he was praising his workplace and describing about all the services provided by restaurant including catering, decoration shows his love and dedication for his workplace. Somewhere in Nepal, I've heard one sayings, "kaam garne thau vaneko mandir ho" and this guy proved this today.
With its delectable cuisine, welcoming atmosphere, and impeccable hospitality, Gurkha Durbar has undoubtedly earned its place as a must-visit destination for lovers of Nepalese cuisine. I eagerly look forward to returning soon to indulge in another unforgettable dining experience.

Read moreFirstly apologies for taking a year to review! I was down on business a year ago and found this place by accident, and I am so glad I did! I had served alongside Gurkhas in Brunei for 7 years and had spent many happy hours socialising and eating with them back at Tuker Lines, their battalion home. The food was amazing and I guess would be classed as street food. Anyway, I walked through the door of the Gurkha Durbar and was hit with that familiar smell. I was home again! The Momos were amazing and just how I remembered them. The Mula Khasi was to die for, and a dish I had not been able to find in the UK. But the best of all, the Newari style Khaja platter. It reminded me so much of living and eating with the Gurkhas. Talking to the staff I found out that one of them had been born in Brunei at the army camp and his father had served in the regiment I had worked alongside. Anyway, back to the food. It really was the most authentic Nepalese food I have found in the UK and it was wonderful. Highly recommended, so much so that during my 10 days in London I ate there 5 or 6 times. I hope to come back one day and bring my partner, she would also love the food. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories.
