Haidilao Hot Pot at The O2 — Restaurant in London

I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for the unforgettable dining experience we had last night at your O2 branch. What a lucky group we were — managing to secure the last table for our party of six, and what followed was truly a feast for all the senses!

From the moment we sat down, the vibrant atmosphere made it feel like a celebration. Every 10 minutes, someone was singing a birthday song, and your incredible staff were full of energy — singing, dancing, even performing! It was such a joy to witness. Their passion and enthusiasm created a truly joyful and welcoming environment that made our evening extra special.

The food? Absolutely phenomenal. We chose four soup bases — rich tomato broth, fragrant pork bone, and spicy, tangy Tom Yum — and they were all chef’s kiss! We couldn’t get enough. Honestly, next time we’re bringing takeaway containers just for the soup!

Our hotpot included fresh scallops, tender beef slices, and a variety of vegetables and fruits — all incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. At just £3.90 per person for the sauce and dessert bar, it felt like an absolute steal. We loved the traditional Chinese desserts like mung bean soup and ice jelly, as well as sweet melon, cherry tomatoes, and an amazing range of Chinese-style condiments. The Japanese edamame and sesame sauce were standouts — full of flavor and beautifully presented.

What truly brought the night to another level was the cultural performance — a mesmerizing face-changing opera that had all our students clapping and cheering with delight. It was such a unique cultural experience and made everyone, especially those new to Chinese traditions, fall in love with the energy and artistry.

We didn’t get a chance to order the hand-pulled noodles this time, but we saw the chef performing the noodle dance right next to us — it looked so exciting that we’ve already decided: next time, that’s a must.

For those who haven’t been to Haidilao yet, let me first talk about the service experience here. Really have to thank Sofia who made our time here memorable and unforgettable. From start to finish she was absolutely unbelievable and so reliable. It was our first time having hot pot and we didn’t really know how it works. However, as soon as we arrived the waiter, Sofia was super friendly asked us if we’ve been here before or not and when we said no she was super kind and explained everything in detailed, taught us how everything works, provided us with everything we needed like forks/apron/rubber band/candies/wet wipes/ and even helped us cook some dishes. I’ve never felt so taken care of in a restaurant before, Sofia treated us like royalty truly. I really hope that the manager or the boss sees this because Sofia is just way too good, she definitely deserves a pay rise!

Now about the food, it was absolutely divine. We picked a quarter pot because we wanted to try everything😂. Laksa was definitely my favourite soup. The portion is quite big so if you are not more then 3 people then I don’t recommend you to order too much. We also ordered almost all the appetizers, they were all AMAZING but I specially liked the rice cake with brown sugar one because it’s so chewy that I can just eat that all day!! The dipping sauces was very interesting, we had no clue what to put but Sofia helped us with her ways and just made the dishes even tastier😋.

Our recent birthday celebration at Haidilao O2 was an absolute triumph, especially with a lively family of six, including four enthusiastic kids! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was buzzing, and we knew we were in for a treat. What truly made the evening exceptional was the incredible service, particularly from our waitress, Yzina. She was an absolute gem, displaying immense patience and kindness with our children, who, as you can imagine, had some rather "high demands." Yzina handled every request with a smile, making sure they felt special and attended to. The restaurant truly went all out for the birthday! There were festive birthday decorations, creating a wonderful celebratory ambiance. The kids were thrilled with the constant stream of surprises – a generous supply of toys, colorful hair bands, and delicious snacks kept them entertained throughout the meal. Then came the highlight: a lively birthday song from the staff, complete with birthday goodies for everyone! And to top it all off, the birthday guest (me!) even received a thoughtful birthday gift! These personal touches truly elevated the experience from a simple dinner to a memorable celebration. Of course, the hotpot itself was fantastic, with a wide array of fresh ingredients and flavorful broths to choose from. But it was the exceptional service and the genuine warmth from the staff, particularly Yzina, that truly made our birthday celebration at Haidilao O2 a resounding success.
