A Fun & Unique Football Experience at TOCA Social! ⚽

I ended up at TOCA Social London as part of a stag do, having no idea what to expect—but it turned out to be a fantastic and unique experience!

From the moment we arrived, the entrance set the tone—you walk through a lighted tunnel with a cool retro look, which leads into the main bar area. It immediately felt immersive and energetic, making for a great start to the night.

We kicked things off with the Team Challenge, which was a lot of fun. However, one improvement I’d suggest is randomising the order of turns. The first player has a clear disadvantage, as they have to figure things out while playing, while everyone else gets to learn from watching. This takes away some of the competitive aspect, so a randomised rotation would make it fairer for everyone.

Next, we moved on to the TOCA Challenge, where you have to hit the pink target zones. This was really entertaining, as it tests both your touch and shooting accuracy. If your touch sucks and you miscontrol the ball, you run out of time, and the shot doesn’t count—which adds an extra level of pressure! I definitely came unprepared, showing up in trainers instead of AstroTurfs, but it didn’t take away from the fun at all.

One downside was the bar service. You have to go up to the bar to order, which could be frustrating—some people waited ages, while others were served instantly. It felt inconsistent, and perhaps a better ordering system or a more structured queue would improve the experience.

Overall, TOCA Social London was a fantastic surprise! It’s a great mix of football, competition, and entertainment, and even if you’re not a football fan, the games are accessible and engaging, making it a perfect spot for groups, events, or just a unique...

We visited for a birthday celebration after a day in London and had high hopes for a fun experience.

We booked for three people and arrived early, which thankfully wasn’t an issue as they let us start ahead of schedule. However, no one mentioned that our game time would begin the moment the intro started. We had to enter our names, emails, and pictures, as well as order drinks, which took about 10 minutes—time we didn’t realise was eating into our actual gameplay.

We opted for a solo game, expecting to have time for a full tournament, but were told we only had 10 minutes left—despite the solo game taking just five minutes! It felt like we barely got to play before our session was over.

Once our half-hour session ended, we still hadn’t received our food or drinks, yet staff came over asking for payment. We were then taken to the restaurant, only to wait another 30 minutes for three simple soft drinks—which still arrived incorrect.

The food portions were also disappointing. The menu stated that dishes served 3-4 people, so we ordered three items and some chips. One dish arrived with just two small portions, another with three mini “chicken tenders,” and a single portion of chips. It was nowhere near enough for dinner, especially after a long day. At that point, we didn’t bother ordering more and just sat chatting—until they abruptly turned the music up, making it difficult to talk, despite the venue being far from full.

We had expected this to be a go-to spot for future outings with friends, as we love places like Topgolf and Flight Club, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Definitely not worth the money, especially for a birthday...

Disappointing Experience – Poor Execution of a Good Concept

I was genuinely looking forward to this experience, especially after winning a voucher in a raffle. Unfortunately, what followed was a frustrating and underwhelming ordeal from start to finish.

To redeem the voucher, I had to navigate through three separate emails, make four phone calls, and wait over three hours for a reply. Not exactly the welcoming process one expects for a prize.

When we finally arrived, there was no proper greeting or introduction to the experience. We were simply pointed toward a box with no explanation or guidance. Staff were inattentive and unprofessional—my partner and I waited at the bar for over five minutes while two team members stood nearby chatting and completely ignored us. No one followed up during the session to ask if we wanted more drinks, and the quality of the drinks we did manage to order was poor. To make matters worse, we were nearly charged double for what we ordered.

The actual activity was just as disappointing. The system failed to register many of the balls, making the game inaccurate and frustrating. Despite booking a 90-minute session, it ended ten minutes early with no explanation.

Overall, the staff were disengaged, unhelpful, and lacked any sense of customer service. What could have been a unique and fun outing turned out to be a major letdown. If you value your time and money, you’re better off buying a football for £10 and playing in the park—you'll get far more enjoyment and far better service. I will say that the only good thing was the girl with glasses at the front desk that was polite apart from that I have nothing...

We went here for a birthday and had great fun! The time is tight for two people but maybe if we’d had longer we would have been quite tired by the end! However my recommendation is focus on the football during your slot in your booth and save time after for food and drink. There were 4 individual games on offer and you could also engage in tournaments. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Recommended for all ages!

TOCA is the perfect space for people to really explore their athleticism within the world of Football. From being a Star Striker to Surviving Apocalypses... There are 5 different games for anyone (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) to connect with while you rack up points within your team to beat your opponents. I took my younger brother with some of his close friends to celebrate their school Graduation. However, this is good for work colleagues, (double) dates, friends and even people who want to elevate their football training to the next level. Despite having your own play pod and results board; the leaderboard is an ultimate feature that is unmistakably unmatched; as should your highest score land on it, the whole building can recognise your sportsmanship. My little brother made it on there twice (in Advanced) & it was his first time playing here! Also, it is spacious, multi-floored with other foosball games and gadgets placed around the building. Although I didn’t have anything to eat or drink here- the bar was well stocked and the menu looked appetising with plenty of options to choose from and meal sharers. Finally… Big shout out to Grace for initially connecting me to this wonderful venue and Farida who helped my family’s TOCA experience be so much smoother and enjoyable.
