Very poor food hygiene and standards for a harvester restaurant. We visited harvesters tonight and to be honest was an absolute awful vile experience. On arrival we went to the salad bar to pick are salad and rolls when we had sat down my 9 year old son discovered are rolls had small flies on them as he went to bite into his roll he noticed flies and he then started to moan as any child would.also my wife had also discoverd a fly in her coleslaw which she then left her salad bowel as was put off by this. I then went back to get fresh rolls and I then noticed there were numerous flies in the roll baskets. We then spoke to are waitress dealing with are table Caroline about are issues Who was really good at her job and had great customer service skills. She stated she would speak to her manager regarding are complaint. she spoke to the manager Lisa who attended are table and stated that the restaurant are aware of the fruit flie issues and the E.H.O envitomental health officer and pest control company are also aware. They removed the rolls off the counter immediately as they could clearly see the flies she also stated it is an ongoing problem in the restaurant. Also that the bar had been ripped out and redone. But hasn't got rid of the infestation of flies.and they no its an ongoing problem We then had are main dinner come and to be honest we had flies flieing around us and landing on are table we're are food was and it was a very poor exspereince for a friday evening meal out with my wife disabled son and 9 year old son. To be honest we left half are meal and asked for the bill and paid up. as didn't want to cause a big deal whilst the restaurant was very busy with customers. Once I left the restaurant I was so angry On the managers customer service skills I called up and spoke to the manager Lisa again on the phone and explained to her that it's shocking for a restaurant like harvesters to be dealing with customers food and takeing no precautions on netting or covering food buffet areas we're the management are aware of a fruit flie infestation in there restaurant. As they clearly stated it to me. We was not offerd any form of apology Or a refund from the manager. I also explained to lisa I will be taken this further. As its really bad for a food restaurant to be serving food in them kind of conditons And she stated to contact the Birmingham head office. Which I will be doing as im very angry and disappointed as a loyal customer of harvester restaurants for many years. To experience such a poor and unhygienic food quality and standards. Any one thinking to use this restaurant Think twice as you will clearly notice the problems in the restaurant with fruit flies flieing around your tables and over the buffet salad and roll section of your...
Read moreI would not recommend this place at all. We were sat in a little corner table where we were left with menus and noone to assist, we had to ask two times for someone to take our order. When the waitress came you could really tell she has been running back and forth, however there were 3 managers just chit chatting instead of checking on the customers. Once we placed the order the starters arrived and was all good, they cleared the table, but then our mains didn't arrive 10 mins, 20 mins and no mains. This was very disappointing as we only wanted to have some relaxing meal in a restaurant... Then they told us that because they had big groups they just pushed our order to be prepared last. No consideration whatsoever....Then one lady came asking are you happy to see me? Bringing the mains, this seems more like moaking the fact that they left us waiting. When I told her I was no happy as they took so long she asked me that where I am from??? Was this a joke? Was she trying to imply anything about my ethnicity??? How is this relatable to the fact they took forever bringing out the food... And there was not even an apology just she said oh next time I will make sure this does not happen...
There is no next time.
Is a bit nerving that this promess was given instead of making sure the evening goes smoothly now. I asked for the bill straight away and we left.
Super sad as this restaurant was one of my go to as is close to the house and the food is okay, but I...
Read moreWent here for my birthday. Mistake on my part when booking, I booked the wrong date. They weren't busy so they found us a table which was great. What wasn't great was the lady at the reception's attitude throughout the whole finding us a table- judgemental and sarcastic about a simple booking mistake. The same lady was asked if we needed to enter our reg number for the car as we had rushed in as we were late meeting the party and we were told no (still with the same attitude) I have now received a parking ticket which I brought up with Harvester. Despite earlier replies saying the lady had been spoken to and that the ticket would be cancelled (unfortunately I had already paid it), I then received a follow up email from the manager saying that "no member of her staff would say I didn't needn't enter my reg"- well, that would make me a liar. And then, in that case, what was the lady spoken to about? I understand there are signs but I specifically asked as I had my toddler with me and I have been to other places where it is only certain times of the day.
On a separate subject, my party also overheard the same lady moaning and being unkind about anotherntable and their seating for their kids- totally unprofessional.
Food was average, and they forgot one of our desserts which we had to then ask for but our actual server was friendly and helpful.
Not to be...
