This is a prime location in Southall opposite the Mcdonalds. There are some big names on this strip, such as Watan and Spice Village, to contend with. Originally, this corner was occupied by Mirch Masala (a past favourite venue of mine). So I was excited to visit the new restaurant.

Firstly, it was very busy, and I have often seen queues outside, so be prepared to wait (I waited for half an hour for a table of 4 at 5.30pm on a random Saturday). The staff are generally curteous but it is hard to get their attention sometimes due to how busy they are. The floor managers were very attentive when you got their attention and repeatedly checked in with us on our experience and our statsfaction with the food and staff. They also listened to our feedback and thanked us. So we did feel like valued customers even though the place was full of people. Apart from it being busy and the wait times to be seated and get the food, the place is decorated very well. It has an excellent look. However, due to it being crowded, you're not likely to get a scenic photo of the decor. The food itself is very good. They have a good variety of dishes available, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Our meal consisted of: Starters as Popadoms, a mixed grill, firecracker prawns. Our mains was a chicken Jalfrezi with Tandoori Roti and boiled rice. Some of the small critisims we had were the Chilli Sauce was very thin in consistency so you had to use lots of it. It could be less watery. We didn't get our drinks and had to wave down passing waiters to help us. This is where the floor managers got involved and served us or directed others to get us what we needed. Finally, the roti was cold when served, but it was replaced quickly with a fresh hot one. Overall, I expect there to be certain hiccups when eating in Southall. It is not a "fine dining" experence, it is a friendly, busy canteena style experience, and the price matches that. Overall we were quite satisfied with our visit and would recommend a trip as long as you understand this is what you are going there for. Don't expect too much and just enjoy the food and the ambience...

I went to Haweli with my family and wanted to experience this restaurant for myself. When approaching the entrance I was met with a lovely chap who greeted us and arranged for a table which was ready for us right away with menus given to ponder at. The restaurant was not too busy and had a steady stream of people coming and going. Once sat in our seats we were admiring the beautiful decor and surroundings which looked amazing and make this restaurant have a classy vibe. We were ready to order but sadly the wait for someone to approach us was very, very long. I kept turning around to see if I could get someone's attention but no-one seemed to approach. Finally after 15-18 minutes of waiting we were met by someone and that was only after my wife flagged them down, that shouldn't be happening in any restaurant let alone somewhere like this as that was not expected. When the member of staff came we promptly placed our order and waited patiently for the food which I can assure you did not take as long as anticipated after the wait to be served. I ordered a mixed grill for 4, lamb rogan josh, chicken handi and 4 tandoori roti's.

The mixed grill had some very tasty elements like the lamb chops and lamb boti. The kebab was tasty but seemed a little bit dry in the middle and not as juicy, probably a very lean mince with less fat. The chicken tikka/boti pieces was dry but the wings were very pleasantly flavoured.

The chicken handi was not nice as it seemed like a standard chicken curry with nothing to get excited about but the lamb rogan josh was so tasty, it had bags of flavour with delicate and well cooked meat which fell apart and the curry was so rich and had a beautiful tomato flavour. Definitely the winner for me.

I know I should have tried the karahi dishes and I think this place definitely deserves a re-visit where hopefully the service will be better. Overall I think the score is fair based on my individual experience and I would recommend this restaurant. Price wise it was £80 for 4 of us which works out to £20 per head which in this climate is probably fair for the amount of...

17/08/24: A very good and extremely popular Pakistani eatery with a nice interior decor. I visited during a very busy Saturday lunchtime service. Customer service here is generally very good but I found the waitress who served me difficult to comprehend and she could have been more welcoming. Many of the dishes at this eatery have the option of being either sweetened and spiced to suit western palates or spiced to be hot and spicy. One negative that the owner needs to address is the very inadequate provision of toilets; for such a large restaurant to only offer a single male toilet and two female toilets is a major oversight and an annoying inconvenience. However, this does not detract from the fact that the food is generally very good. I tried the Mixed Grill, Butter Chicken Curry, Naan Bread and the Oreo Milkshake. Butter Chicken Curry: 6-7/10* A more tomatoey based version but with a thick, non-greasy and pleasant sauce. Very good but it could do with a little more depth of whole spice flavour and more seasoning. Mixed Grill: 7-8/10* Overall very good but the is a disconnect between some of the excellent items and of the some blander items, which need to be improved to bring balance to this platter. Also, my platter was served lukewarm and not sizzling, whereas other customers were served hot sizzling platters; this was very disappointing. Lamb Chops: 8/10* Excellent, well flavoured and tender. I would order this separately on my next visit. Lamb Tikka: 9/10* The best item on the Mixed Grill. Very well flavoured and cooked expertly well. I would definitely order this separately on my next visit. Chicken Wings: 6/10* Good flavour, succulent and juicy. Needed a little more seasoning. Chicken Tikka: 3/10* Extremely bland and almost devoid of any flavour. The tikka was cooked well but was poor nevertheless. Very disappointing and ruined the enjoyment of the Mixed Grill as a whole. I would not order this item again. Naan Bread: 6/10* Oreo Milkshake: 6/10* Customer...
