Listen, I’m a 30something Italian with no particular connection to India apart from the occasional Indian takeaway I started enjoying after moving to London 10 or so years ago. No doubt after the last year my soul is more than a bit starved of powerful, exciting experiences so that’s probably a contributing factor to how hyperbolic the following statements might sound. What I’m getting at is that this food was somehow of a transcendental experience. I experienced the kind of euphoria you might, rarely, feel in the presence of soul-touching art or an epic sunset in an incredible natural landscape. Having gone for the Heritage Grill for 2 with an extra vegetable side, me and my partner had plenty to put away for lunch the day after. Just to say that I found this was, although a bit of a splurgy treat for us, incredibly good value for money considering the shocking quality of everything. I could not stop grinning while eating the reheated leftovers, attracting comments that I cannot be taken to a restaurant anymore if that’s how I’m going to behave (sadly not an issue at present). The meats were incredibly tender and flavourful to the core but the absolute standout for us, happy carnivores, was the Dal Makhani. I tasted it and kept looking around the room in disbelief. Thank you, Mr Sharma and Team. This meal...

Visited Heritage Dulwich with my office colleagues for a team lunch, and it turned out to be an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a touch of elegance that perfectly complemented the rich Indian culture.

The menu offered a great variety of traditional Indian dishes, and each one we ordered was cooked to perfection. The flavors were authentic, with the perfect balance of spices that transported us straight to India. The butter chicken and lamb biryani were crowd favorites at our table, while the vegetarian options like paneer tikka and dal makhani were equally delightful.

The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. Their recommendations were spot-on, and the service was prompt, even though the restaurant was quite busy.

What stood out the most was the attention to detail – from the presentation of the dishes to the way the staff made sure we had everything we needed. It’s not just a meal at Heritage Dulwich; it’s an experience.

Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or celebrating with a group, I highly recommend Heritage Dulwich. We left with full stomachs and big smiles, already planning...

Wanted to try this restaurant for so long, as been following their Instagram for a while and seemed like a very great restaurant.

We arrived in time, 7pm, and restaurant looked fancy and tiny as the have about 10/15 tables inside and a few outside, which is great, we ordered straight away a few drinks and papadomus, as reccomedded by one of the staff to nibble on, while deciding what to order.

I already knew what I'd order for myself, as their lamb chops are super rated, so i also wanted to try them! At 7.30 the waiter came by to take the order, and when I asked for lamb chops, were told that they run out of them, which is quite understandable, however what I don't understand, is why wasn't I informed in that ½ hour that I was sat at the table, in which I would have chosen something else. Finally managed to place an order after 35mins and food was great, however service was quite inattentive, as 3 front of staff were there, plus a barman and a manager, for a small place like that, and the staff present at the time, I would expect my drink to be full at all times, instead of keep having to ask for more drinks as well as water.

Not such a great experience for us...

We visited 4 people on 21 June evening. We ordered 4 main dishes, including Biriyani, Nan breads and Paratha and a bottle of Champagne. The food was delicious. The portion was also reasonable. Nan was soft and freshly made. However, We are quite disappointed with the service quality. The lady, I guess the supervisor seemed a little extra concerned about other table than us. I felt a bit of a racist vibe. As there were only three tables running during our visit. And the lady asked other all tables about food or rest and haven’t come for once to our one. Even from the beginning, no one asked for papadam or water. In fact, we had to call the waiter two-three times for refilling our water glass. Which is unacceptable as they should be around to check for service. Apart from that some of the glasses were dirty, need to check before you start serving, had to call for change. They did not clean the table after finishing the food and did not even ask for the dessert menu. Also as a prestigious restaurant, the bill should be taken from the table, not from the till. I will think twice before going again to Heritage Restaurant. Expected a lot, but experienced the bare minimum…
