High Water London — Restaurant in London

Visited on a Friday night so were unable to make a reservation. We were greeted by a super friendly doorman who asked about our evening, and then ushered inside to a little perch near the door. Would have preferred a normal table but completely understand that it was busy and we were lucky to get a spot at all. Server was really friendly and offered to help with any questions we might have. Water was provided and constantly topped up. Drinks were lovely, my friend stayed on the East 8 Hold Up all evening as she enjoyed it so much. Only reason for the 4 stars is that I feel that there are a lot of very good cocktail bars in the area that perhaps have the edge when it comes to innovation and flavours. Will definitely return to High Water...

Horrible experience recently, so disappointing as this is somewhere I had recommended and enjoyed before. Staff treated my friends and I with suspicion, my friend was followed into the bathroom and asked to speak outside after simply asking for a plaster. Another friend was asked why she had left to to go to the shop. Neither manager nor security would speak to us about why we were being harassed for no reason. Spent 80 pounds on two cocktails each, had come after dinner, were completely sober and it was 8pm. Security was aggressive and argumentative and clearly just looking for trouble out of boredom. I live around the corner and was so looking forward to having this as a new local spot but will never go back after being made so...

The waiters and bar staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. However, the drink choices on the menu were not my cup of tea and I asked for a drink which was not on the menu. When it arrived, it didn't taste good at all. But the worst part of it was the bouncer at the door. I waved at my party who were indoors, he said "hello" and I replied. He said "hello" again so I tried to enter, confused as to what he wanted. Then he put his hand on my arm to stop me and said "when I say hello you reply." Which of course I had and was left confused and uncomfortable. It's not ok for your bouncer to put his hands on women. I would have left had my party not already...
