Hoa Phuong — Restaurant in London

Have been meaning to try this local place out for a long long time! What a little gem! It is run by one lady, who appears to cook everything from scratch, therefore, be prepared to wait as we waited 20 minutes for our takeaway for 2.

We ordered: Spicy beef noodle soup Dry noodle with lemongrass beef and grilled pork (paid extra for the extra portion of meat) Spring rolls

Spicy beef noodle soup. Beef was extremely tender, slightly pink, just the way we like it. The soup was tasty, spicy without being too hot, so one can still taste the fragrance of the soup. As a take away, the portion of noodles is separated to the soup which means you don’t get soggy noodles when you get home. You will need a big bowl to combine them as the portion size is rather generous!

Lemongrass beef and grilled pork vermicelli. The grilled pork was extremely tasty and delicious. Lemongrass beef was slightly over cooked and less tasty on its own when compare to the pork. However, when combined with the fish sauce and vermicelli, it tasted great. The dish came with the usual crushed peanuts, sliced carrot, lettuce and cucumber, all of which were very fresh. There were also some stir fry pepper in there which was a nice touch.

Spring rolls. Freshly fried and tasty, served with delicious fish sauce.

We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely purchase from here again. The lady speaks simple English but we ordered with no problems pointing to the menu she produced. As she said there was a 20 minute wait, we simply popped across the road to do some grocery shopping before coming back to collect our order.

Súp mì bò cay. Thịt bò cực kỳ mềm, hơi hồng, đúng kiểu chúng tôi thích. Súp ngon, cay mà không quá cay, vì vậy bạn vẫn có thể cảm nhận được hương thơm của súp. Khi mang về, phần mì được tách riêng với súp, nghĩa là bạn sẽ không bị nhão mì khi mang về nhà. Bạn sẽ cần một cái bát lớn để trộn chúng vì khẩu phần khá nhiều!

Bún bò sả và thịt lợn nướng. Thịt lợn nướng cực kỳ ngon và hấp dẫn. Thịt bò sả hơi chín quá và không ngon bằng thịt lợn. Tuy nhiên, khi kết hợp với nước mắm và bún, nó có vị rất tuyệt. Món ăn đi kèm với đậu phộng giã nhỏ, cà rốt thái lát, rau diếp và dưa chuột, tất cả đều rất tươi. Ngoài ra còn có một ít hạt tiêu xào trong đó, một điểm nhấn tuyệt vời.

Chả giò. Vừa chiên vừa ngon, ăn kèm với nước mắm ngon tuyệt.

Chúng tôi thực sự thích bữa ăn của mình và chắc chắn sẽ mua lại ở đây. Người phụ nữ nói tiếng Anh đơn giản nhưng chúng tôi đã gọi món mà không gặp vấn đề gì khi chỉ vào thực đơn mà cô ấy đưa ra. Vì cô ấy nói rằng phải đợi 20 phút, chúng tôi chỉ cần chạy qua đường để mua một số đồ tạp hóa trước khi quay lại lấy đơn...

I felt compelled to write a review for this place because the outside of it looks so absolutely dreadful but the food inside is so amazing. The first time I wanted to go here I got to the outside of the shop, took one look and headed elsewhere. The second time I actually went in and I’m so glad I did.

The food is possibly the best Vietnamese I’ve had in London. Been there quite a few times now and it’s just so delicious. And the ladies who take your order go into the back to make it so it feels like the closest you can get to home-cooked Vietnamese food if you don’t actually know anyone Vietnamese. Not five stars though because the place is quite rough and the selection of drinks is below basic but definitely worth a visit...

This is by far the best and most authentic Vietnamese food I have tasted in London! If you have been to Vietnam and tasted Bun Bo Hue then you need to try this place! This is the only place I have had it this authentic outside of Nam! The vietnamese spring rolls are also fantastic as is everything else on the menu! The place may not have the look but it has the taste! On a final note I have never tried it during my travels in Vietnam but the Bun Tom Hue (Bun Bo Hue with prawns) uses a fish stock rather then beef and has such a wonderful clean seafood taste!
