Allergy sufferers please beware. My wife is allergic to alium and capsicum families of food - airbourne as well. We ordered our food and explained our situation. All good so far. Food comes out and placed in front of my wife. On top are lots of capsicums. Food taken away again to be remade. That would seem to be ok, mistakes happen, get over it. However, a similar thing happened on our previous trip to the same place. Owner was there on that occasion and took our complaint to heart and said he would look into it. This tme we went no manager or owner. There is no set procedures at this place to ensure that the kitchen follow through on allergy information. There is going to be a serious incident that will happen here. Most places we go to there seems to be a system in place where a senior member of staff takes the order and check through until the food arrives at the guest. Here the order is placed with allergy information provided and then all responsibility is dismissed, yet the same people bring out the food. No checking that the order is correct. They even went onto taking a service charge on our bill even though the food was delivered piecemeal and was getting cold while food was being remade Not happy at all. Nobody interested in resolving issues - no manager present at this, the busy period. I have no confidence that this place will take you seriously as long as they get paid!!! BEWARE.

Location: 5 min walk to Elephant & Castle station, Hampton Street bus stop just right in front of the restaurant. If you are driving, possible it is hard to find a parking. Service: average, kind of chasing you if more customers, or less customers when you are dining at the back hall of the restaurant, they will send you a bill and inform you this section will be closed shortly. They should politely to advise you or offer you to change table near to the front hall section, if you wish to continue to dine, rather than give you a bill straightaway. Also, sitting at the back hall of the restaurant is very cold during winter time. You may ask to sit in front, they have portable standing heater. Quality: I won't say is the best dim sum, not an average standard, but they served variety of choices on dim sum in terms of steam and fried dishes. Taste is fine. Price: reasonable. Overall, I think their foods are okay, service is so so but can be improved. Next visit I will consider to order from the main menu à la carte .

Interesting. Just like service oscillated between silently courteous or noisy and brisk, depending on who approached our table, so did dishes not have a single quality standard. The pork dumplings were roughly made — really thick skin, little and rather compact filling, while the sauce was too vinegary. A disheartening start to our meal. The main dishes were very good, though. Duck was tender while its skin was deliciously crispy, the plum sauce and ginger really making it more tasty. The seafood fried noodles were very good, too. Just the egg fried rice was depressing, not fresh, not well cooked. It’s not cheap and a bit pompous, so we were not expecting so many mistakes with the food. The restaurant itself needs a renovation. Chipped tables, thorn cushions, the atmosphere is a bit rundown if also very lively from the customers. The bric-a-brac decor makes it humorously kitsch. Would return to try other dishes, while skipping the starters and sides.

PLEASE READ Don’t come here unless you’re Asian or Caucasian you will not get good customer service!!! Terrible customer service for my family and no help or suggestions from the waitor but I saw them assist everyone one else. Quite racist because they did not make us feel welcome at all. Waitor was even rolling his eyes. Very rude and no smile. Waitor snapped at my grandmother for asking is food was steamed or stir fried. Questions were unanswered about the food so if you have allergies I would not trust it. No direction was given and no food could be recommended and every question had a one word reply. We got some better customer service after they realised we were paying quite a bit of money. For 3 of us we spent about £120 and wanted To buy more but there was no help. Had to change waitors which sort of helped. Until she tried to run us down for £0.17p after not charging it to the card. But I saw the other waitor was complaining about the change and giving my family rude looks instead of graciously accepting the request. Honestly food was overpriced and some quite bland. Especially the fried rice and not a lot of king prawns given per dish. Considering it’s like £11 a dish I think more than 6 prawns would be better. Portions on the smaller side and only selective dim sum for dinner which was disappointing. Good dim Sum. Duck and beef were good but small and rice was bland and noodles were bland. Interesting spin on Chinese and not something you would get in a takeaway. Food came very quickly though. Nice ambience and decor but could be a bit cleaner as there was dust floating in my wine glass and don’t bother trying to buy spirits they’re ridiculously overpriced. For £5 u get 25 ml of cognac brandy which isn’t even a single. Overall I would give this place a miss solely based of service. If the service was better maybe I would come back once in a blue moon. But you get better tasting cheaper food in Chinatown. Even the noodlebar around the corner at elephant and castle is probably better. I had to take time out to write this review so people can avoid this place. Giving one star, the food was better than one star but the service was appalling. Just judging the food I would give 3 stars. They might as well be a takeaway so they don’t have to interact with people. I will never go back they need better service or open a restaurant in China so only Chinese people can eat there never felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable in any restaurant like this one before and the irony is I’m mixed Asian but maybe not asian enough and I can see a correlation between my review and some others who have had the same problems. I will read reviews in the future and I’ve noticed that any customer that has complained about this has had no response or apology from the restaurant/management. PLEASE READ 1 STAR REVIEWS BEFORE EATING...

We had a late booking for dinner which was accepted as they don't close until 11pm. We arrived shortly after 9 and had the most disgusting experience. There were only three tables occupied and when one of the tables were emptied the staff soon started cleaning the tables and sweeping the floors and mopping after, whilst we were still finishing our starters. We were entertaining friends from Sweden who looked rather dismayed and wondered if that could not wait until we finished our meals. So I did kindly ask them to stop their rude activities. It was only a quarter to ten for heavens sake. The manager was busy talking to a table which was still occupied with guests. Beer was spilt over our fried rice and a big puddle was left.We had to ask and waited for five mins before it got cleared up and beer replaced. Rice was taken away as it was soggy with spilled beer and we had to ask for a new dish to be replaced. We had to ask for bowls, cutlery and napkins. It was a most embarrassing evening especially as we had guest from abroad who wanted to try a Chinese cuisine. We are regulars and enjoyed coming there albeit not too often. When I approached the supervisor we had to hear his sob stories of staff problems but no genuine apologies. We were presented the bill and to our surprise there was even a service charge of 14 %.That really made me decide to write a review. We are appalled to have to pay the amount of close to £100.00 for a meal that was all served at once so that when we finished our starter of crispy duck the rest of the food was stone cold! I hope management will read this review and get back to us to try and reason with us, but I doubt very much they will. Our recommendations sure will not stretch to a five star service nor food and staff. We were there the evening of May 10 2023 and left the restaurant at 10.25 so well before their closing...

I had an awful experience on Sunday, my son had made a reservation as a Mothers day treat for me. I'm disabled and due to my illness I'm unable to go out on a regular basis. We went to the restaurant and the member of staff was very rude to us, he said that we wouldn't be allowed in to eat as they were busy. The restaurant wasn't even half full. My son explained that he'd made the reservation and we were there on time and it was unfair that we wouldn't be able to have a meal there. I said that we'd taken an uber there as I'm unable to walk very far and I wasn't going back home. He tried to say that they had contacted us which they hadn't, I told him there weren't any missed calls or voicemails and he said the lady was supposed to call us and it was nothing to do with him. We were finally given a table and told that we had to hurry up and eat. We were there for at least 15 minutes when a Chinese couple came there to eat. He was very polite to them and didn't tell them that they couldn't eat there because they were too busy. We had to ask for a knife & fork as we weren't given any. The food we'd ordered was disgusting, the meat was so tough that we couldn't cut it in pieces & the rice was very watery. I asked the man why he had spoken to us like that and told us that we weren't allowed in to eat because of how busy it was. I said that he was very polite to the Chinese couple and let them in even though they didn't have a reservation. He said he let them in because he wanted to. He also said that we had to pay the service charge and my friend told me yesterday that he lied because it isn't compulsory. Both myself and my son are mixed race and I said he was being racist and we wouldn't be eating there again. I have already told friends & family not...
