Today I dined at Chatkara Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a meal. One of the standout features of Chatkara is the ability to see your food being prepared right in front of you. This not only adds a unique touch to the dining experience but also assures you of the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. I ordered the lamb bhuna with garlic naan and a Coca-Cola, and all of this was priced under 12 pounds, which is incredibly reasonable. The lamb bhuna was exceptionally well-cooked and flavorful, with just the right balance of spices that enhanced the taste without overpowering the dish. The garlic naan was fresh, soft, and perfectly complemented the rich flavors of the lamb. I’ve tried multiple Desi restaurants where I ended up paying double or even triple the amount for what was supposed to be a good experience, but none of them came close to the quality and value offered by Chatkara. The quick service was another highlight, as my meal was served promptly despite the restaurant being fairly busy. It's clear that Chatkara takes pride in both their food and their service, ensuring that customers leave satisfied and eager to return. Based on my experience and the overall atmosphere, I can confidently say that Chatkara Restaurant deserves all the praise it gets. It truly beats all the other places I've tried in terms of both quality and value. If you're looking for an authentic Desi dining experience that won't break the bank, I highly recommend giving Chatkara a visit.

The restaurant is suitable for a quick treat to yourself or hangout with friends for short time span. The look of the place is not been on their focus point neither their food appearance. They offer a variety of Asian food. Foods are more on a oily side so cannot be claimed healthy. However, we can sometime treat ourselves with bit of unhealthy good food. The nan was not really great as they were more hard and crispy, as the air wasn’t realised properly. We had two different of dhal, tadka dhal and chana dhal, both were good enough to give four stars. However the lamb curry was tasty on sweet note, which was not expected at all. The prices were moderately cheaper than other fancy restaurants. Also if you go there don’t forget to try onion fry that is freshly made and served directly from the oven. Enjoy 😉

I came here last night with my partner for a quick bite to eat.. we ordered a veg samosa, onion baji and chicken tikka wrap. The food came out quickly but found that the samosa was lamb and not veg which my partner couldn’t eat. I spoken to the sister who quickly rectified the issues and gave us a new samosa. The onion baji for me was dry and not fresh but reheated, the tikka roll was nice but over cooked a little and wrapped in a chappati which I expected this to have come out in a naan bread so I was a bit disappointed. All in all was ok and nice, we was also given a few poppadoms and salad which was complimentary.

I am in disbelief at the positive reviews for this institution. I had a terrible experience. Me and two friends walked in and were quickly greeted by the member of staff behind the counter, he seemed friendly enough and was happy to wait for us to make a decision on what to order. We ended up ordering 1 kebab roll and two chicken tikka rolls. The member of staff went in to the back to 'make' our order. around 5 minutes later he came back with the food we ordered. The fact that it only took 5 minutes should have been an indicator that the 'fresh' food was just cold, hard, microwaved rubbish. After receiving our food, I ordered a mango lassi as well and the member of staff rushed to the back again to make It. After a couple of bites in, it was clear that the food was of a very poor standard; the kebab was stone cold and rock solid, the chicken was also cold and had a weird metallic taste. Unsurprisingly we stopped eating after the few initial bites in fear of contracting food poisoning. We decided it was time to leave and we expressed our disappointment in the food to the member of staff. He interrupted his FaceTime call to argue with us about how fresh his food was. Ironically, he was arguing from behind the counter that contained a pile of refrigerated kebabs as well as other various refrigerated dishes. After around 10 minutes of arguing he stated that we either pay or 'do it the other way' - probably referring to some sort of violent reaction. He then fumbled around with a calculator to work out a 'discount' - a £2 discount to be precise. Reluctantly, I eventually paid the £11 bill he managed to piece together as we were in a rush and had no interest in drawing out the argument any longer. To top it all off, I didn't even get my mango lassi; he had got distracted by his FaceTime call. This is not the worst thing that could have happened, as he also admitted that it comes in a can anyway. Overall, I am highly disappointed and will never step foot in this place again. If you're reading this, please don't be fooled by the positive reviews, this is quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I...

Went to have their £6.50 lunch special and halfway through my meal I found a fly in my food. Not a small fruit fly, the big ones. Took it to the person who served me and showed them, they asked if I wanted another meal. I told them my appetite was gone and I'd prefer a refund. He said they don't do refunds and insisted I take another meal. I explained that this was a health and safety violation and against my consumer rights, therefore refusing a refund would be illegal. He laughed and went to get his manager. The manager came and assessed the meal, he asked why I ate half the food if there was a fly... I said only noticed it halfway through the meal. He then said that I drank the coke that came with the meal and there was no fly in there so I should pay for the coke. I said the deal was 'lunch and a drink' for £6.50. I did not buy it separately. The deal was broken and I'd like a refund. He told me the door was open and that could have flown in anytime. I said that I would have noticed and it would be on the top of my food, not curried (brown) mixed in with with lamb. He then threw my cash on the counter and walked off. I paid by card. Avoid this place...
