Great value food and friendly service.

Picca pollo- fried chicken (delightfully crispy and extremely juicy), fried plantain, crispy pork belly, lungs (texturally challenging; no matter how much I try to break it down with my jaws, it refuses to cede and stubbornly returns to its original shape or form) and a token salad. TBH the latter has no place on the plate as I'd much prefer a second carb of rice. £10.

Cerveza Pilsener- refreshing and light (the napkin tied around the neck is to encourage the drinker to clean the mouth of the bottle fastidiously before consumption). £1.70.

NB One thing that I did notice was all the Spanish speaking diners were offered a bowl of soup before their main courses. As far as I could see there were no soups offered as starters on the menu so I can only assume they were complimentary and if they were, I wasn't served one. This practice is probably very similar to Korean diners being given gratis banchan at Korean restaurants before they order their meals and the freebie house soup ladled out at Gold Mine to yours truly before I'm given the chance to...

If you are looking for a proper Colombian experience that not only involves the food but also the vibe and the people, this is the place.

A small restaurant with an overall pretty simple but very authentic Colombian vibe. When we went, there was live music for a birthday, which made it even more authentic. The food was great (rated by my Colombian friend), very generous sizes (we ended up taking a lot of leftovers away!) and incredibly cheap (eating without limit and having a couple of shots costed us 17£ each). We had arepas, empanadas and a big tray full of grilled meat.

The service was friendly and laid back. A bit distracted but I guess it comes with the vibe.

Lovely place, truly authentic (we were the only non Colombians) and great prices! Will...

Saturday late lunch at La Barra. Place was fully but got a table directly. Staff was very busy but friendly and helpful. Better to speak Spanish. The place is a little trip to Columbia as it’s full of Latinos but still you feel welcome. Ordered the Pica Pollo small version which is 5 pieces of Dominican fried chicken comes with Bofes (fried pork belly), fried plantain and salad (no, the salad isn’t fried haha). Well, I must admit it does sound simple but it tastes amazingly good. Not to greasy and there a perfect balance between spices and batter. Highly recommend the dish and for £12 ... come on ! Don’t forget to ask for chilly sauce and slice of lemon. Will come back to try other dishes because from what I could see behind plexiglass shield the other table looked...
