The whole park is your garden and your office is surrounded by the nature, and just enjoy the calm and tranquil atmosphere. But when you go outside the gate, it is a posh and bustling high street. Don’t you think life should be like that? Actually you can own this kind of life easily in London. This time I tried Holland Park, and they have a youth hostel and a cafe and a restaurant inside. Amazing! Most importantly, finally I could smell Spring in London and flowers are in blossom.
London Coffee Shop for Digital Nomads-17 Holland Park Cafe
Category: Cafe in the Park
Wifi: reliable and free to use (need a code)
Seating: There are lots of outdoor tables and chairs, and inside also many sofas, small tables and chairs. In the backyard, you could find some wooden tables and chairs. Some power outlets can be found indoors but very limited.
Ambience: Outside definitely it is wonderful and lovely, especially in a sunny day, but inside it may be narrow because it is located under a bridge shape. Still an ideal place to enjoy a piece of peace in the central London.
Cost: Coffee £1.5-£2.4 Tea £1.25-£1.5
Something special about the cafe: The park definitely
Problems: (1) The style is like a old school canteen and the chairs are not comfortable actually. (2) Difficult to find the power outlets for your laptop and phone. (3) The food is quite basic and the coffee is average, so the price is a bit expensive in this case. (4) It is quite busy and the service is slow on lunch time, especially...
Read moreTerrible, low quity food, low hygine, bad customer service. We went there with my boyfriend. The cashier charged us for 3 meals although we ordered 2. We waited 40min for the food. The waitress brought the food to our table but she wasn't sure if it's ours or not. So she took it back. 10 min later she came back, saying 'yes it was ours' do brought the same food back but it was cold now and the portion of the food got reduced and it was swimming in yellow fat. We got half piece of chicken leg per person. We spoke to the supervisor, told the story, pointed out that onn the menu it says chicken thighs and that's exactly what we got the 1st time. She apologised and brought out for us 1 thigh on a saucer plate to share!!! I'm not joking two adults got 1 piece of chicken on One saucer plate and 2 forks to share and no garnish!...
Read moreI visited Holland Park on a guided tour with @ypldn in June 2013. After the tour we had refreshments at the cafe. I ordered tea and scones with jam and cream. The scone was absolutely delicious and I have now added the venue to my #3DIL App. One or two suggestions: I had to ask for the cream; it goes without saying that if you offer scones and jam...you simply have to have cream with it (unless you dont eat cream). The staff were friendly albeit disorganised and got our orders in a right muddle serving others further down the queue and missing out someone who was right in front of the teller!! The food was delicious, my tea was served in a metal pot which I love, the venue is simple and the outdoors seating was lovely. I would suggest a more organised staff to make it a place to visit...
