A neighborhood gem - don't go to Megan's.

I was there when Home SW15 first opened years ago and was really impressed with the food and friendly customer service. I had not been back for years as we moved further away and I was not disappointed when I stopped by today. It has gone from strength to strength.

The chicken caesar salad is still amazing. Made with an actual chunky piece of grilled, seasoned chicken THIGH vs most brunch/lunch places where you get bits of rubbery, bland chicken breast sprinkled on top. The portion was generous so I felt I was eating a filling main meal after a long dog walk in Wimbledon Common. Their truffle fries would have fed two people looking to order sides, generously topped up with parmesan and proper truffle compared to lots of places that just douse it with truffle oil and hope they can get away with it.

So much better value vs a place like Megans where by the time you add in chicken, haloumi etc. to your bunch of greens, you are paying £20.00.... plus paying for your side of fries that come in a size of a small measuring cup and taste of cardboard sticks.... AND they charge you for a dip of your choice....

I always wondered what HomeSW15 would do with what seemed like a cavernous site but they have made it cosy, warm and chic and wisely used the space to draw in the Bugaboo Brigade and families during the day that need the space. But a lone person looking for a stunning Bloody Mary on an early Friday afternoon would be equally comfortable, propping up the bar. And dogs are welcome too, although management sensibly have them sit in just one side of their brasserie (some people don't like dogs) and keep the other side dog free.

Back then I said it was better than Bills and Brew which have now sort of disappeared off the high street. And it's still powering ahead of the latest competition to take its place ( Megans etc.). Wish there was a Home in my new...

I am not one for reviews (in fact, this is my first) but eating here again last night reminded me that it’s only fair that HomeSW15 is recognised for all they do. HomeSW15 has become one of our favourite spots in London. On every single visit these guys are giving 110% and as a result, we have never had a bad experience. Their food is a knockout, their cocktails are dangerously addictive, and the service is always on point. But above all, it’s the warmth of the people behind this place that makes it such a standout. They are friendly, funny and extremely down to earth. It’s not hard to find a bar or restaurant where the manager says all the right things or your waiter was extremely polite but it is rare to find somewhere where every single member of a team cares about your experience. They treat you like so much more than the average paying customer, they treat you like a friend, like a member of the family and they welcome you into their ‘home’ with open arms.

This industry is currently facing some of the most challenging times seen, yet Craig and his team (or should I say family) at HomeSW15 continue to adapt and give their all, day in, day out to ensure your experience is remembered. My hat goes off to them all. They have created a home from home for so many and I have no doubt their extended family will continue to grow.

Lastly, I feel I should quickly address the COVID measures as I appreciate many people are seeking comfort that restaurants are creating a safe environment to be in at the moment. All staff were in face masks, sanitiser available and the tables distanced. In fact, it was so seamless you were given the chance to forget this pandemic existed (even if only for...

A decent restaurant with a traditional dining approach to ordering.

Home SW15's lunch menu is peculiar in that you're forced to have a minimum of 2 courses. At first, this annoyed me (a little less so now) as I like to have the flexibility to do what I please, especially since I am paying for my food. However, my friend mentioned giving them a go, as they must be confident in their food to force us into two courses. I started off with the chicken liver parfait, which was very good, followed by the chicken schnitzel, which was the highlight of my meal. I found the teriyaki sauce with the schnitzel to be a little overpowering and rich, given the fact that the schnitzel was shallow fried and already quite rich. I think it could be better if it was a little less intense. The salad with the schnitzel was very good and refreshing. Truffle and parmesan fries are 5/5. Plenty of truffle and not too overpowering.

Additionally, I had a bite of the shrimp burger and the burrata, with the burrata being the better of the two. Again, they found the shrimp patty to be too oily.

The cheesecake was by far the best aspect of the meal, and quite honestly, one of the best cheesecakes I've had in a while.

The service was impressive, with very engaging staff. They even offered on the house cocktails and cheesecake, which was a fantastic touch.

At the end of the meal, I finally understood the concept of the restaurant. Home cooked comfort food, done to a high standard. It does this well, but I wish they wouldn't force you into two courses minimum.

With drinks, the bill totalled to just over £50 per person. Which is on the higher end for what...

Wow wow wow!! Craig and his team really knocked it out of the park for us on Saturday. We had the entire mezzanine level for a party of 20. The ambience was sublime and with all the greenery out the window (and the rain) it looked like we were in some tropical rainforest! The food - I can’t find the words to describe the perfection that was served!! We had canapés and welcome drinks to start that were a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth!! The starters just seemed to keep coming and each extra dish outranked the previous one!! I could happily have just sat and eaten them all day long. The focaccia was out of this world, the Tuna - there are no words! And the Green Papaya & Pineapple Salad, with Cashews and Lime Dressing just blew all our minds!! The mains followed with a lot more ooohing and aaahhing!! I had the Corvina which was a party on my tastebuds but looking round the table there wasn’t a weak link!! The shared Eton Mess was great fun and a strong finish!! We just couldn’t fault a single mouthful of the whole meal!! The staff were friendly and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mention goes to Molly and Odaine who were fabulous. We were sad that Craig was away, but his team did him proud at every step. Would I recommend HomeSW15?? Well what do you think?? 150% I would!!
