I visited the restaurant today (12.8.25) and made payment at 7:20 pm. I was seated at Table 12, order number 106, and served by a tall South Asian woman, possibly of Indian origin. We ordered drinks, but due to an unexpected situation, we had to leave immediately and could not place any food orders. When I asked for the bill, she questioned whether we wanted any food. I said no, and then asked for the service charge to be removed. We paid separately, after which her attitude noticeably worsened. Instead of handing me the card reader, she abruptly dashed it onto the table, which was completely unnecessary and highly inappropriate. It is important for staff to understand that the service charge is optional, and sometimes situations arise where customers must leave unexpectedly. There is also nothing wrong with a customer ordering only drinks. When I requested the service charge to be removed, and to pay separately she responded with an attitude and a dismissive “what?” twice, despite clearly hearing me the first time. She needs to improve her customer service skills and treat all customers with respect. She was not wearing a name badge, but based on the details I have provided, I am confident you can identify her on CCTV and my receipt. Overall my experience would be rated a ZERO, I will not come back here again

Very seriously overpriced not Wagyu burger, chips, and a drink. Posh prices, posh place but still doesn't warrant the ridiculously high prices. That's the negatives out of the way. The burger however is of excellent quality. I ordered mine well done and it was cooked perfectly. It was served with chips and the drink I ordered. The service wasn't fast but this isn't fast food. For a posh burger restaurant, of which there are so many nowadays, I do like Honest Burger but prefer Five Guys as their burgers are better, and their pricing is a lot more realistic. Sorry but I won't be rushing back to Honest Burger. The pic is of a Wagyu Burger that I made in my kitchen at home. Burger from Costco, £2 each plus Brioche Bun from M&S, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, pickle, etc... Total cost about £3.50p and the quality is second to none. Enjoy.

I came with my family on a rainy day. Despite it being around 15 minutes before opening time, the kind staff let us in early and let us sit inside until 11, when the store opened. I ordered a double smash burger with fries for 11 pounds. The double smashed patty was incredibly flavourful as promised, however it was still juicy and was not dry, which is a problem with some smash burgers. The rosemary fries tasted delicious, not too salty, and not too oily, and I like that it comes free with all sets. If you do not like fries, there is also an option to switch to a salad or a coleslaw, both of which are also very nice. All three sides come in a generous serving. As such, if you want nice, affordable burgers with delicious sides, do check out this lovely store near Borough Market.

how bad can a burger shop be? Let me give you an honest review (pun intended).

Had the most unfortunate experience at Honest Burger Borough market. Deeply disappointed and appalled by the level of service and management at this establishment.

My family and I decided to visit Honest Burger Borough market for a casual meal, looking forward to enjoying some delicious burgers and chips. Sadly, what we encountered was nothing short of a nightmare. The quality of the food was shockingly abysmal. The burgers were overcooked and dry, lacking any semblance of flavor, and the chips were hard, dry and undercooked. It's disheartening to witness a place that claims to specialize in burgers produce such a subpar and tasteless offering.

When I brought this concern to the staff's attention, I was met with excuses about their batch of deliveries being bad. While I understand that unforeseen issues can occur, it is inexcusable for a reputable chain restaurant not to take responsibility for the poor quality of their products. Instead of finding a solution or trying to make amends, the staff seemed indifferent and unapologetic about serving us inferior food.

To add insult to injury, the behavior of the manager was simply appalling. Instead of addressing our grievances with empathy and understanding, the manager came over in an aggressive manner, displaying a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy. We were treated rudely, with the manager ordering us to pay and leave, as if we were inconveniencing them with our presence.

I understand that not every dining experience will be perfect, but the way this situation was handled left a lasting and traumatic impact on my family and me. The utter lack of customer care and poor management at Honest Burger Borough market is truly disheartening, and I cannot fathom how such a reputable chain could permit such behavior.

In light of this horrendous experience, I strongly urge anyone considering dining at Honest Burger Borough market to think twice. The subpar quality of the food and the complete lack of concern for their customers' experience is deeply concerning and unacceptable. My family and I will never step foot in this establishment again. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for the management to prioritize customer satisfaction and basic professionalism.

We popped in here for a burger lunch with family from out of town.

There was no welcome, no attempt for seating arrangements. They do not care if you come in or not. I noticed other customers walking in just seat themselves, then having to move to a different table just because they weren’t seated initially.

We had to go towards the bar & ask if they could accommodate a child wheelchair, to which he responded you can carry him down the stairs in the wheelchair. This is absolutely disgusting behaviour. They had a couple of flights of stairs to go down.

So, I had to ask him could we not have seating upstairs as there was only two other customers. Also, there was no way we were going to manoeuvre him down the stairs. Would you tell other Wheelchair users to do the same ? I suggested he could have merged the single tables to make a large table.

To which he did, when we had placed my sons Wheelchair at the end, he said it was blocking his walkway. Sorry for giving you a resolution to one you couldn’t solve.

My children were hungry, I had to call a waiter over- & ask him to first put through the children’s order first while we were still deciding.

The food came out in a timely manner. My Smash burger was a little bit on the dry side, quite underwhelming. The fries were tasty - crispy and fresh. Buffalo wings were tiny for the price. The Texas Chicken burger was very tasty. We had a jug of classic lemonade and a jug of mint lemonade, both were completely bland. No zing, no kick, not a pinch of sweetness. Just watered down lemon. For the mint one, You get one sprig of mint for a whole jug. Very disappointing . £10 a jug.

Besides this, for a very empty restaurant at the time, there was lack of service (Despite paying service charge. (£100 bill - £10 service charge). You do not get checked on to see if your food is okay, you do not get asked if you need anything else. They are too busy talking amongst themselves. I had to personally wave a waiter down for a Bill, despite chatting with another waitress.

They will happily take your money, but will not thank you for your custom when you leave.

Customer service, manners and human decency - (especially those with needs) do not cost anything.

Wheelchair users- you will not be welcome here. The space between the tables will not fit an adult...

Awful experience in here, the service is atrocious. Upon arrival, we were taken downstairs for a table, then left standing and told to go back upstairs. We were then told to go to a table by the bar and the man behind the bar questioned what we were doing - quite simply, we were going to our table. After ordering the food, we were waiting for around 45 mins which is excessive for this kind of food.

The buffalo wings are pathetically small, I cannot comprehend how they are from a chicken.

I ordered a buffalo burger which arrived and was a plain deep fried chicken burger with pesto. I asked if it could be swapped for a buffalo burger as per my order and I was told that it was a buffalo burger, simply because it was fried and not grilled. The waitress could not understand that there was no buffalo sauce or flavour and it had pesto on. We showed a photo from the Honest Burger website which clearly shows the buffalo burger covered in hot buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. She brought over a bloke who I assume is the manager who aggressively leaned in and questioned ‘what seems to be the problem?’ Absolutely disgraceful service. He offered to bring a pot of buffalo sauce which I accepted, so I had to make my own burger at the table.

Our plates were not cleared for 30 mins after finishing and no one offered to take our bill. Upon finally paying, we politely asked to remove the service charge as we weren’t happy, to which we had no reply and she merely stated the total for us to pay. Once paid, we said thank you and she walked off in silence.

What on earth is going on...
