We've eaten at multiple Honest Burgers locations over the past few years, mainly in central and North London, and our experience has largely been very positive. However, I feel compelled to write this (negative) review of HB King's Cross because of the potentially serious consequences of the staff's attitude on the day of our visit.

I ordered the signature burger - the name of which I forget - while my partner ordered the Tribute Burger. I'd like to stress that we both went for the medium option, which is the way we've always had our burgers, whether at HB, Byron or elsewhere. After a pretty lengthy wait, the burgers arrived... lukewarm. The reason for this was apparent after taking a bite - they were both basically raw.

I decided to keep eating mine (a mistake, as it later transpired), but my partner was so unhappy with hers that I called over our waitress. We showed her the burger, which I've attached a picture of, to be told that "this is the way that we cook our burgers here, but if it's really a problem, I can get my manager for you". It was deeply irritating that we were made to feel as if we were at fault for having the temerity to raise the issue. The manager arrived, took a look at the burger and said he would "tell the kitchen". He didn't remove it or apologise.

We waited a further fifteen minutes, at which point I called the manager over and explained that we had to get to the theatre and that there simply wasn't time to have the burger. At this point, I assumed that he would deduct the uneaten burger from the bill, but instead he returned a couple of minutes later with a freshly-made burger in a takeaway bag. I deeply regret not making a bigger deal out of the situation, but as we were in a hurry we simply paid the bill and left. My partner subsequently ate the (very overcooked) burger on the bus to Angel.

Yesterday afternoon I started to develop chills, stomach cramps and nausea, and had to return home early from work. I came down with mild food poisining over the course of the evening, and spent the night vomiting. While I obviously can't assert with 100% certainty that the raw burger meat was the culprit, it seems highly likely that that was the case. The whole experience wasn't just disappointing, but very unprofessional. I strongly suggest that the King's Cross branch up their game in regards to customer service and food safety, as both areas are...

Eaten at Honest Burgers in Cambridge before and I had nothing but praise for that establishment. Amazing food, good customer service and friendly staff. This promted me to try another of their outlets at Kings Cross and I wish I hadn't. We arrived at the restaurant without any bookings at 11:20 . The establishment wasn't open until 11:30 busy there was no queue and we could see the staff reading the place so we waited outside. At 11:30 we saw them flip the sign and walk away from the door, far from a warm welcome but we want inside. The we greeted the initial staff member and asked her if we could have a table of which she replied " the manager is downstairs she'll be here in a min". Not very helpful or polite. The service was quick and food proceeded quick enough. The person serving our table brought out four plates of food but unfortunately dropped the remaining too. Accidents happen so that was no big deal but one of the burgers was left with a handful of chips but didn't fall on the floor on the end of our table. We weren't told we could just have that burger as an extra or the remaining fries, but also it wasn't taken away so don't know what that was about. After making a small joke about the accident there didn't seem to be much polite banter. So I avoided pretty much any other interaction. We asked for the bill, this came to the table but after about 10-minutes of trying to catch somebody's eye to pay this I simply left the bill on the end of the table along with the cash. We then got up to leave as staff were talking to other people and walking past us,. As soon as we literally left the property then the initial member of staff we were greeted by accosted me and told me I hasn't paid the bill. Of which I replied if you look on the table I have left it there. I felt a little bit insulted by this and if she had paid more attention during our stay she would have seen this. All around a disappointing Sunday lunch experience. Definitely could do with scrub and the toilet facilities were below par. I do love the food but not so much the customer service on this occasion. In a very competitive area like Kings Cross I think you've got to be worth a visit and this place isn't...

I visited on Saturday afternoon after attending an event with my best friend. I've been wanting to try Honest Burger for years and I was not disappointed at all... This was literal heaven to me. On top of the food being absolutely bloody delicious, the staff were all absolutely brilliant and ever so friendly and welcoming.

The food was cooked to order and really did exceed expectations. What was really lovely was the staff made adaptations to our order; my friend had the regular bacon burger and removed the red onion relish and if I wanted to change the sauce from Chipotle mayo on my bacon plant I could have; I didn't do this. I did however have a gluten free bun and when requesting this the staff told me that everything was safe for coeliacs on their menu and advised all sides were gluten free so Laura and I shared some onion rings. The online menu isn't clear in advising that fries come with your order so we almost accidentally ordered these too but our lovely waiter pointed out on the menu fries were included. The onion rings were beautiful and I've never seen bigger ones... They were the same size as my burger!

As for value, it was very much worth it. I work for the NHS so was able to include the discount on our bill, so for two burgers and fries with one large side and one orange juice (they bring water for the table for free) I spent thirty pounds. The food was very filling, so much so that both of us realised two bites into the burger and a forkful of fries that we were stuffed! We did finish our meal but we were offered to go boxes if needed.

Absolutely aiming to return. Thank you Honest Burger for making a dream visit a...
