Tl;dr review: Stunning Asian cuisine, wide variety of dishes, lovely homely décor, fantastic prices, topped off with wonderful friendly and attentive staff. A must-try.
Full review: I've been dying to write up a proper review of probably my favourite restaurant, quite possibly ever, so let's give it a shot.
To start, the décor is lovely. It has a homely, but modern feel with woodwork along one wall and matching tables adorned with unlabeled soup cans that hold chopsticks, Sriracha, and soy sauce. It gets quite busy at times but there's enough room between each table so that you don't feel cramped and you can hear people at your own table. The toilets are also well maintained and kept very clean.
The staff! Oh gosh, I do love them all. They are all so friendly and talkative, and attentive as well! No request goes unheard or unaccomplished, even my mother's constant nattering for table salt and a knife.
Now for the important part, the food. I've been lucky enough to have been here so many times that I've tried every dish on the menu and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that I have ever said or thought "this needs more X", or "this needs Y amount more cooking...". It all tastes absolutely divine, from the small plates, to the rice, to the chow mein, and the soups. I absolutely adore the Salt and Pepper Squid and Nasi Goreng particularly. The fried vegetables with garlic you get with the squid... I could eat a plate of just those. Oh and I cannot go without mentioning the heavenly Satay Sauce. I almost always order Chicken Satay JUST for this sauce, and I slather it on literally everything I can.
I can't recommend a particular dish outside of those mentioned because they all taste so fantastic, but I can say that if you are in the mood for a variety of foods, order 5 or 6 small plates. The amount will fill up 2-3 people easily and you'll have such a varied amount of great tasting food.
The price is also as sweet as the food. The small range from £3-5 each and main courses go for around £6.50-9. A meal for 2, including starters and mains, usually comes to about £20-25 which is £10-12.50 a head, and for the quality of food it's a total steal.
Overall it's just fantastic, absolutely fantastic, probably the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. Great selection of food, lovely staff, and it all tastes amazing. Seriously, this place is worth your time and money so you should totally give it a...

The decor perfectly blends rustic Asian elements, transporting guests to a cosy corner in the heart of Asia. The restaurant's attention to detail in creating an authentic atmosphere truly sets the tone for a memorable dining adventure.
One of the standout features of Hot Wok Kitchen is the lovely owner. Warm, welcoming, and attentive, the owner's presence exudes a genuine passion for their restaurant and a sincere desire to make each guest's experience special. Interacting with her is an absolute pleasure and adds a personal touch to the entire dining affair.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food! My personal favourites were the spicy Singapore noodles with extra tofu and the salt and pepper squid. The flavours were out of this world, leaving my taste buds dancing with joy. The noodles were perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of kick, while the tender, crispy salt and pepper squid was an absolute treat. These dishes are undoubtedly the highlights of an already impressive menu.
Adding to the charm of Hot Wok Kitchen is its reasonable pricing. Considering the top-notch quality of the food, the cost is incredibly fair and offers excellent value for money. It's refreshing to find a place that delivers such an unforgettable dining experience without breaking the bank.
Last but not least, I must commend the restaurant for its excellent service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and eager to accommodate any special requests. It's clear that the team at Hot Wok Kitchen takes pride in providing exceptional service, making each guest feel like a VIP.

If you like lower grade not so good quality Chinese food and want to pay London prices for it, you can go basically anywhere else.
If you want “proper” Chinese food, I’d advise against ordering the Pad Thai… because it is essentially from Thailand…being their national dish… To experience “proper” Chinese food, I would recommend looking on a map of China and picking specific dishes from specific regions as China has many different regions as the country is approximately 9.5million km2 and home to a rough figure of 1.4 billion people. I would also be googling “Chinese diaspora” & “Map of Asia” and also “Southeast Asian”…
Please don’t pay attention to any fake reviews advising you to go to other restaurants, success isn’t trampling on others to rise higher than them. And before you write a bad review, please consider independent and small businesses and the impact that one negative review might have. I would advise talking to the staff directly.
Hot Wok Kitchen is for the highest quality, most value for money and a really lovely and friendly customer experience. The chefs give generous portions and for very low prices, anyone complaining about the prices must not live in the U.K. - I have yet to find somewhere in London that I like more than Hot...
